It is a genuine OEM sourced 5-inch sanding pad assembly that is specially designed for use with Craftsman orbital sanders. Its purpose is to provide support for hook and loop sandpaper, unfortunately, over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement. To make the pad last longer do not put to much pressure on the sander when using it, the pressure will create heat and ruin the small hooks on the pad. To replace the pad simply remove the four screws attaching it to the sander and replace it with the new pad. Please note this high-quality component is sold individually.

The motor requires these brushes to conduct electricity to the armature. Due to constant friction, these brushes will wear and require regular replacing. For this fast and simple repair, use your screwdriver to remove the brush cap and this will give you access to the brush.

This is a genuine OEM carbon brush, sold individually. Two are needed in your tool, and we suggest replacing them both at the same time, even if only one requires replacement. This is a very common replacement part, and it usually becomes obvious a repair is needed when the motor starts running poorly. Upon inspection you may notice the carbon brush has worn right down to the wire lead, and can be cracked, pitted, or burned. While inspecting the carbon brush, you will want to also check the armature for signs of damage as this can be an indication of more significant motor issues.

The primary purpose of the Toggle Switch is to turn the device on/off, as well as playing a role in electric breaking by momentarily reversing electrical polarity. Due to the mechanical internals of switches, they tend to degrade and wear out over time, making them a commonly replaced part in appliances. Common symptoms of a broken switch include: the device has completely stopped functioning, it will not turn on, and turning off intermittently during use. Each Toggle Switch is sold individually.

This is a single OEM brush assembly with the leads, wire, and spring included. The brush holder is sold separately. Carbon brushes are known to wear from normal use of the tool, so it is important to consistently inspect and replace them as instructed by the manufacturer. It is also advisable to replace both brushes at the same time even if only one appears worn. For this quick and easy repair you will need a screwdriver. Disconnect the tool, remove the brush caps, remove worn brushes. Insert the new OEM brush assembly and secure the brush cap.
