Commonly referred to as dog ears, these agitator directional cogs are manufacturer approved replacement parts that come in a package of 4 and are usually used with direct drive washing machines. We recommend replacing all 4 directional cogs at the same time. The agitator directional cogs reach across the gear teeth in one direction and dig into the gear teeth in the other direction to create the needed agitation. This thrusting motion is what tumbles your clothes during the wash cycle. When the teeth on the outer edge are damaged, the cogs will not engage with the upper agitator, making it impossible to agitate as it should. If your machine makes unusual noises, shakes/moves while operating, or will not spin or drain properly, it may be time to replace them. To access this part, simply remove the softener dispenser and then the agitator cap. You will find them attached to the agitator. Each cog is approximately 1 inch long and made of a durable plastic.

This is an OEM agitator repair kit that includes an agitator cam, four directional cogs, a bearing, thrust spacer, inner cap seal, and washer. These parts are found inside the agitator auger near the top. This kit is used when the top portion of the agitator is not moving correctly but the bottom part is. The agitator is subjected to a lot of force during the wash cycle, so it is common for this part to wear over time, especially if you are consistently over-loading your washer. If your model has a softener dispenser, it will need to be removed to perform this repair. Agitator grease is recommended for this repair, but is not included in this kit.

This is an authentic OEM agitator cam kit for your washing machine. The kit includes a bearing, the cam holder, and four individual cams. You may need to replace the agitator cam if you find your washer is noisy, it shakes and moves, or it will not agitate. To do this repair we find it easiest to remove the agitator and you will need a 7/16 socket to do this. Once the agitator has been removed from the washer, you can remove the old cam kit from the top portion. The four individual cams are inserted into the cam holder, and the bearing holds them all in place. The assembly can be placed back inside the agitator, and then the agitator installed back inside the washer.

If your washer isn’t cleaning clothes like it used to, the agitator might be the issue. This part spins back and forth to help scrub dirt from fabrics, using a central shaft and fins to move clothes around. When it’s broken, you might hear strange noises or notice your laundry isn’t getting evenly cleaned. Replacing a worn agitator can restore your washer’s performance and help eliminate lingering odors caused by leftover residue.

The thrust spacer is a genuine OEM part that is more commonly known as a retainer ring. The spacer is made of white plastic and measures approximately 2.5 inches in diameter. This part is found in between the agitator and the auger in your direct drive washing machine. The space is used to support the auger and secure it on the agitator base. If your washer will not agitate, or is shaking or excessively noisy while running, you may need to replace the ring. Please note that this repair requires dual-action agitator grease, which is not included with this part.

This OEM agitator base connects to the auger and helps move clothes during the wash cycle. It rotates to create water movement that loosens dirt and improves cleaning. Replace if the agitator stops moving, cleaning performance drops, or the washer vibrates excessively.
