Tub Dampening Strap
Fix Number FIX271100
Manufacturer Part Number WH1X2727
This is a single tub dampening strap for a washer. It is recommended to replace all 4 tub dampening straps at the same time, to ensure even wear. This part supports the tub and minimizes vibration by keeping it centered in the cabinet. If you notice loud banging or excessive vibration, this could be due to an off-balanced tub caused by a worn or damaged tub dampening strap. While inspecting this part, also check that the tub itself is not damaged where the straps mount. This manufacturer-approved replacement part is black in color and measures 5.875-inches by 0.625-inches.

Installation Instructions
Leslie from ROCKY FORD, CO
my washer would bang when it changed from wash to spin.
Step 1 unhooked the power. Step 2 unlatch the front panel. Step 3 remove the three screws holding the control panel in place. Move the panel to the right and fold it back over the back of the washer out of the way. Step 4 remove the two screws in front holding the top in place. raise the top slightly and unlatch the switch and slide it out of the top. Remove the top and set aside. Step 5 remove the screws holding both ends of the straps and replace the straps with the new ones. To get the back ones the tub has to be moved over to gain access. It is easier to install the rear straps first, that way the tub will move more. Reassemble in reverse order paying attention to the position of the latches for the front panel so they line up with the slots and latch correctly. After assembly is complete check the tub for level.

Tub Seal
Fix Number FIX4704237
Manufacturer Part Number WH02X10383
If your washer is leaking when it is filling or agitating, you may need to replace the tub seal. The tub seal is found between the transmission and the outer tub in your washing machine. This genuine OEM part serves as the main water seal between the outer tub and the transmission shaft. Another sign that the tub seal has failed is if grease marks are being left on your laundry or if the machine is noisy while operating. This repair is on the more difficult side, as you need to disassemble most of your washer in order to replace the tub seal. If you are not comfortable with this, you may want to call a qualified professional to install this part for you. Be sure to disconnect the power and water supply to your washer before beginning this repair.

Agitator stopped working
Remove agitator by pulling upwards allowing it to seperate from the coupling. Once agitator was removed the coupling was exposed. There is a 11mm bolt on the top of the coupling. Remove the bolt then remove the coupling by lifting it straight up. When the old coupling is removed, clean the spline with a wire brush removing debris and calcium build up. Once spline is clean, slide on new coupling and secure with new coupling bolt. Once new coupling is installed and secure, reconnect the agitator by sliding it over the coupling and pushing down.

Washer would agitate but not spin
I figured it was the clutch since the washer would agitate so it wasn't the switch. New clutch and belt was delivered by parts elect in 4 days. Amazing! If you're doing this job always replace the belt even if the old one looks good. The four screws holding the motor were not very tight so maybe that's why the clutch broke. I removed those nuts and then the belt. Had to puzzle the motor out. First tilt back then out. I don't see how you could remove the clutch without taking out the motor assembly. I trashed the retaining clip removing it but the new clutch came with one so no worries. I used a crowbar to gently pursade the clutch off the spindle. Cleaned up the slightly rusted spindle with some 600 grit paper. Gave it a little waterproof grease and slid the clutch on then the retaining clip. Puzzled the motor back in and used the crowbar for a little leverage to tighten the belt then tightened those four screws. I will check those screws in a few weeks. Pretty easy. Although the wife wanted a new front loader, this cheap fix should last many years. One fault in this washer is that water splashes a bit inside while agitating. No way to stop that so it is doomed to rust internally eventually. I was very impressed with parts elect website in diagnosing the problem.
