Hello James, Thank you for the question. We suggest shutting off the circuit breaker or unplug the washer for 30 seconds. Turn the timer knob on the washer around and back to any position other than final spin. Be sure that the water is turned on, and restore power to the appliance. if this does not fix the issue, you may have a faulty User Interface Control Board, Fix Number: FIX16542666. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

My hot point washer was making an awful sound while agitating. I emptied the washer then tried running it with nothing in it. Now it trips the breaker. It will fill, spin, and drain but not agitate without tripping the breaker.

Hi Stephanie, thank you for contacting us. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest you check the drive motor, part number FIX11759153, first, as it may be drawing too much current. If it is faulty, you may need to replace it. If tripping occurs when you manually select cycles through the control panel, the wiring inside it may be the problem. If the problem persists, you may need to check the drain pump, part number FIX12723115. A washing machine drain pump assists in removing the water from the tub by forcing the water through a drain hose to a laundry tub or drain pipe. Since water may be drained from the tub multiple times during a wash cycle, a defective drain pump may interrupt operation and prevent the tub from agitating, also tripping the circuit. We hope this helps!

Would not drain the water from the tub.
Very simple to repair. Be sure to drain the tub outside or into the sump pump then lay the washer on its side. The pump is right there on the bottom of the basket with 3 bolts. You will also need to remove the belt cover to get to the plug. So simple and saves you hundreds off repair man prices.
