This OEM drum support roller kit contains the parts needed to replace one roller on your dryer. This kit includes one drum roller and two bearings. Most dryers use two drum rollers, and it is recommended to change both at once for optimal performance. The drum support roller holds the drum in position while it spins on the support wheels. It rotates on the roller shaft located on the rear bulkhead. It may need to be replaced if your dryer is noisy, will not tumble, leaves marks on clothes, or will not start. This part is prone to wear and tear, and if broken will need to be replaced. This part measures roughly 3 inches in diameter and is made of plastic, metal, and rubber. Each kit is sold individually (two would be needed to replace both drum support rollers, which is recommended).

"Sqealing" noise when drum rotating
Disconnected power supply, removed front panel, removed tub support bracket, removed electrical lines from light and door switch( to have better access to install front guide kit), removed belt, removed drum, removed old rollers, installed new rollers and rest of installation was in reverse order of taking machine apart. In order to install the front guide kit(which I've never done before), I had to watch the installation instructions via you-tube. This was a tremendous aide as the instructions were simple and very adequate. Read more...

This is a single dryer drum belt that measures 93.5 inches. The belt rotates the dryer drum and is a common wear part that can become brittle over time. It can also stretch and change shape, so keep this in mind when comparing your old part to this new replacement part. When this part wears it can cause a thumping noise in your dryer, and that is a typical sign that it needs to be replaced. To access this part, you will need to remove the front panel of your dryer, and the belt will be found looped around the drummer, under the idler pulley wheel, and around the drive pulley. For a successful repair, you will need a pair of needle nose pliers, a Phillips screwdriver, a 1/4-inch nut driver, and a putty knife. Do not forget to disconnect the power to your appliance before you begin.

The blower wheel is responsible for blowing heat into the dryer drum, and out of the exhaust vent. If you notice that your dryer is taking too long to dry or is make unusually loud noises, it may be time to replace the blower wheel. This genuine OEM replacement part comes with a metallic clamp that holds the wheel in place. This part attaches to the drive motor shaft and can be accessed by removing the front panel of the dryer. Be sure to disconnect the power supply before beginning this repair.

Noisy 'rattling' sounds from Dryer ->bad blower fan wheel
Watched the video - really helped me get prepared. Very simple repair: first, unplug power! Removed front panel 2 screws & slowly pulled panel outward to release top clips (2min). At unit bottom, removed the blower fan grey cover (7 screws, 3min). Pulled spring washer (careful not to bend) from shaft and removed spring clip on blower fan wheel (5 min). Installed new blower fan wheel onto shaft with washer&clip. Reinstalled blower cover/screws and front panel/screws. Total time about 15min. Thanks for an easy, inexpensive fix! Read more...

Loud squeaking and squealing
Lint Filter - Removed old lint filter and inserted new lint filter. This is the first time I tried to fix a dryer. A handyman I am not. I found two very useful YouTube videos using basically my model of Kenmore (11067851600). Disassembly/Assembly - here is a difference between Kenmore 29" wide dryers and 27" wide dryers. Mine is 27". My effort was not a smooth as these videos. The bottom front panel's right most clip was quite troublesome. The moisture sensor wire required needle nose pliers to be disconnected and reconnected. The open door sensor was not easy to disconnect. Although with a few special magic words it came apart. The upper front panel was held in place with two T20 Torx screws. I had only had a T15 driver, therefore a trip to Home Depot was required. The first two tri rings were not easily removed, however, on third tri ring it became easier and not damaged. Replacement of tri rings was not troublesome. Support rollers snapped in place easily. However, I did thoroughly clean the housing. It was quite grimy. Actually, while I had the dryer open I cleaned everything including the heating element and electric motor. It now operates quietly. It took me a little over two hours because I am not handy and must take care not to make matters worse plus I thoroughly cleaned everything include scuff marks where the drum rubs. Anyone else probably should have it completed 30-60 minutes easily. Read more...

Dryer was a bit noisy with a full load of wet clothes
As per the repair videos on the site, I searched the internet for a couple of supplementary videos just to make sure I was doing it correctly. It was was all pretty easy. Expect to vacuum out and clean out the interior of the dryer. Also, to make things easier, disconnect the bulkhead and exterior like in the video, but also keep the top flipped up until reassembling, it'll make it much easier. When reinstalling the belt, remember how the belt is going to go around the pulley, you'll have to do this without sight as the barrel will the way and you won't be able to see what you're doing. It's really not hard but just keep this in mind. Also, as you disassembling, it would help to snap some pictures of where each screw goes and how; reassembly was a tiny bit tricky as I didn't do this. Read more...

Commonly referred to as dog ears, these agitator directional cogs are manufacturer approved replacement parts that come in a package of 4 and are usually used with direct drive washing machines. We recommend replacing all 4 directional cogs at the same time. The agitator directional cogs reach across the gear teeth in one direction and dig into the gear teeth in the other direction to create the needed agitation. This thrusting motion is what tumbles your clothes during the wash cycle. When the teeth on the outer edge are damaged, the cogs will not engage with the upper agitator, making it impossible to agitate as it should. If your machine makes unusual noises, shakes/moves while operating, or will not spin or drain properly, it may be time to replace them. To access this part, simply remove the softener dispenser and then the agitator cap. You will find them attached to the agitator. Each cog is approximately 1 inch long and made of a durable plastic.

Upper agitator stopped working
Followed the simple instructions on youtube, searching for "kenmore upper agitator doesn't work." There are a number of videos there. Find the notch on agitator cover and pry off the cover using a flat screw driver. Remove the nut in the center of the agitator using the 7/16 socket with extension. Remove upper agitator (mine came off easily but some may require removing the entire agitator, then pulling off the upper agitator). Remove assembly from inside and replace the dogs. Reassemble. This is an OEM direct drive motor coupling, which provides a cushioned connection between the transmission and the motor shaft. This is the newer version of this part, made with new metal sleeves for added strength. It is located between the motor and transmission on direct drive washers with no belt. If the drive system seizes, the coupling is designed to break to prevent the drive motor from damage. Consequently, this part may need to be replaced as your appliance ages. Never overload your washer, as this can speed up its deterioration. Symptoms of a faulty motor coupling include a washer pumping but not spinning, slow spinning, the washer not agitating, and unusual noises. Washer would not spin or agitate
First, I found it very easy to follow the help on your web site to determine the most likely parts that would cause my problems. The direct drive motor coupling could be the cause of both problems. Also the agitator repair kit was the most likely cause of the agitator problem, So, I ordered both parts. When AI received the parts there were videos included instructing every detail for installation. I just followed the video for the direct drive motor coupling and both problems were solved with the one part. It took about 30 minutes and was a simple installation. .Thanks for your good service. This part is located on the front bulkhead of the dryer and helps the drum to rotate smoothly and quietly. If you notice a screeching or metal-on-metal noise while your appliance is operating, you may need to replace the front glides. This genuine OEM front glide kit comes with a blue plastic glide, a brown cork pad, and two metallic rivets. We recommend replacing both sets of glides at the same time, which will require the purchase of two kits. To complete this repair, you will need a Philips screwdriver and a 5/16 nut-driver to remove the front panel and the bulkhead of the dryer, a drill with a 1/8-inch bit to remove the old rivets, and a rivet tool to install the new ones. Over time, the belts in your washer can either stretch out and sag, or become brittle and snap. When this happens, it can result in the belt losing its grip and will not be able to spin or drain the tub. If this happens, the belts will need to be replaced. This OEM belt kit includes the drive belt and the pump belt, which are both V-shaped, and made of black rubber. The pump belt is located between the motor and pump under the washer, and the drive belt is looped around the drive and motor pulley at the bottom of the machine. This repair is easiest to complete if the washer is placed on its back, and you will need to disconnect the power and water supply.

Washer motor was actuating but machine whined and emiitted smell of burning rubber. Agitator did not turn.
Disconnect washer from power, water inlet, and drain. Move machine out from installed position. Tilt machine against wall, back panel to wall. Remove belts, inspect the pump and agitator belts for excessive wear, burnishing, cracking. Remove front panel. Advance the water pump manually to confirm it is not stuck or clogged. Advance transmission (large counter weighted object on spindle immediately below tub) shaft to confirm freedom of movement. If it doesn't move, you should consider a new machine. Transmission repair is above DIYer level and too costly on older machine. If transmission shaft turns by hand, replace belts if necessary, and confirm tension to manufactures recommendation by adjusting position of the water pump. Reposition machine and attach water inlet, outlet, and power. Activate machine and confirm operation. Read more...
