Commonly referred to as dog ears, these agitator directional cogs are manufacturer approved replacement parts that come in a package of 4 and are usually used with direct drive washing machines. We recommend replacing all 4 directional cogs at the same time. The agitator directional cogs reach across the gear teeth in one direction and dig into the gear teeth in the other direction to create the needed agitation. This thrusting motion is what tumbles your clothes during the wash cycle. When the teeth on the outer edge are damaged, the cogs will not engage with the upper agitator, making it impossible to agitate as it should. If your machine makes unusual noises, shakes/moves while operating, or will not spin or drain properly, it may be time to replace them. To access this part, simply remove the softener dispenser and then the agitator cap. You will find them attached to the agitator. Each cog is approximately 1 inch long and made of a durable plastic.

This is an OEM agitator repair kit that includes an agitator cam, four directional cogs, a bearing, thrust spacer, inner cap seal, and washer. These parts are found inside the agitator auger near the top. This kit is used when the top portion of the agitator is not moving correctly but the bottom part is. The agitator is subjected to a lot of force during the wash cycle, so it is common for this part to wear over time, especially if you are consistently over-loading your washer. If your model has a softener dispenser, it will need to be removed to perform this repair. Agitator grease is recommended for this repair, but is not included in this kit.

This agitator assembly is designed for use in top-load washing machines, where it plays a crucial role in the cleaning process by rotating back and forth to help lift and move clothing through water and detergent. If your current agitator is cracked, worn, or no longer functioning properly, replacing it can restore your washer’s performance and ensure your laundry is thoroughly cleaned. Installation requires a wrench and should be done with the power and water supply turned off for safety. This component is sold individually and does not include additional parts or accessories.

This is an authentic OEM agitator cam kit for your washing machine. The kit includes a bearing, the cam holder, and four individual cams. You may need to replace the agitator cam if you find your washer is noisy, it shakes and moves, or it will not agitate. To do this repair we find it easiest to remove the agitator and you will need a 7/16 socket to do this. Once the agitator has been removed from the washer, you can remove the old cam kit from the top portion. The four individual cams are inserted into the cam holder, and the bearing holds them all in place. The assembly can be placed back inside the agitator, and then the agitator installed back inside the washer.

If your washer isn’t cleaning clothes like it used to, the agitator might be the issue. This part spins back and forth to help scrub dirt from fabrics, using a central shaft and fins to move clothes around. When it’s broken, you might hear strange noises or notice your laundry isn’t getting evenly cleaned. Replacing a worn agitator can restore your washer’s performance and help eliminate lingering odors caused by leftover residue.
