Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve
★★★★★
★★★★★
(1)
Fix Number FIX7784018
Manufacturer Part Number 242252702
This is a refrigerator water inlet valve and mounting bracket. It is responsible for releasing water from the supply line when triggered, which makes its way through to the water dispenser and/or icemaker in your refrigerator. It is located behind the refrigerator, connected to the water supply. This part is prone to material fatigue from normal use. A defective water valve could cause a lack of ice production, and your water dispenser to stop working properly. If the solenoids no longer have continuity or the valve is plugged, it will need to be replaced. For this repair, you will need to pull the refrigerator out from the wall and disconnect the water and power connection. Please note that this part may look different than the original but is a manufacturer-approved replacement.

Valve wouldn't fill the ice maker
Old valve used compression fittings on the plastic lines. The new valve uses the push oring fittings which required cutting off the end of each line. The line to the ice maker was quite short to start with and after cutting the end off it was to short which required splicing in a short piece of line. After installation it works fine Read more...

Crisper Cover Support - Front
Fix Number FIX2358880
Manufacturer Part Number 241993101
If opening and closing your refrigerator is difficult, it could be due to a damaged or warped crisper cover front support. This part keeps the crisper shelf in place and mounts to the inside cabinet wall. Sold individually, this part is white in color, measures approximately 1 inch in diameter, and can be used for the front and rear support. The installation of this part is considered easy and should only take a few minutes. You will need a small flat blade screwdriver, putty knife, and soft hammer. Take the crisper and shelf out of the refrigerator first. To remove the old part, start by pushing the locking pin into the interior of the cabinet using the screwdriver, pull the support out with the putty knife. If taking out the pin is difficult, use a flat blade screwdriver to push it down and out of sight, this will not harm your refrigerator. Remove the pin and attach the new support, using a soft hammer to lock the new pin in place.

Fix Number FIX12364147
Manufacturer Part Number 241798231
This is a genuine OEM ice maker assembly for your refrigerator. The ice maker makes eight cubes at a time, by filling the mold with water from the inlet valve, freezing the water until the cubes are formed, and then ejecting them into the storage bucket. This process will repeat until the ice bucket is full. If your device is not making ice cubes, the ice maker assembly may need to be replaced. Please ensure that you disconnect the power and water supply to your fridge before beginning this repair. This kit includes the fill cup, a four-pin wire harness adapter, and tube.

Ice maker stopped making ice
Loosened 2 screws on left side freezer wall. Disconnected wire harness. Took out ice maker. Made sure screws extended far enough out to fit the new ice maker over them. Connected the wire harness. Put ice maker onto the 2 screws. Tightened the screws. Within a few hours we had ice. NOTE: use a mirror or you will fish blindly trying to find and tighten the screws. With the mirror, it was easy. Refrigerated side not cooling well. Little or no air blowing through vent at top into refrigerator. Ice build up on back panel in lower part of the freezer. Coil was found to be totally iced up when panel was removed.
The video showed how to do the repair very well so I don't think a detailed description will add anything. I first removed all the ice from the coil with a hair dryer and also pouring hot water over it. The only other thing I did differently was that after I clipped on the wire connectors, I sealed them with clear silicone caulking. The repair kit came with sleeves you are supposed to slip over the connectors and heat shrink over the connectors with a heat gun. I do not have a heat gun, so I used the silicone instead. I just smeared it all around both open ends of each connector to seal them up. Read more...

Ice build up in the evaporator.
Im from Mexico, I had to buy all the parts in US, I made an overhaul to my refrigerator, also I replace the main control board wich has the defrost timer integrated in this mother board, tooks me more de 2 session of 2 hours each one to complete the whole reparation. The most difficult part was remove and install the defrost heater element, because you most handle with the evaporator, need patience and time, also was difficult for me to replace the main control box because the access to it in the bottom of the fridge, too norrow the space and too short the harness cables that connect to it. gasket, defrost control, crisper support and bulb, very easy. excellent service from this site. After almost 3 weeks the service guy I called at the begining is still looking for the parts, Im glad I did my self. Read more...
