If your freezer will not defrost, or your fridge and freezer are too warm, there may be an issue with the defrost timer. This device helps to melt ice that builds up on the evaporator coils. It does this by cycling on the heater circuit for thirty minutes after every eight hours that the compressor has been running. There is also a dial on the timer that can be advanced in and out of defrost mode if you need to adjust things manually. If frost is allowed to build up, it can reduce airflow and the efficiency of your appliance. If you need to replace the defrost timer, this is an authentic OEM part.
