The heater element is located in the bottom of the dishwasher. It is used to maintain the temperature of the water during the wash cycle and to dry the dishes afterwards. If your dishes are not coming out properly cleaned or dried, there may be an issue with your heater element. If you need a new part, this is a genuine OEM replacement. In order to complete this repair, you will need to disconnect the power supply to your dishwasher, remove the water inlet valve, and pull the dishwasher out from underneath the cabinet if applicable.

This kit includes the black plastic handle (white handle is no longer available from the manufacturer), the latch, and two switches. The door handle and latch assembly is a simple on/off mechanism that prohibits the dishwasher from operating when the door is open. Symptoms of a faulty door handle and latch assembly include the door not latching properly, being unable to close the door, leaking during operation, and the dishwasher not starting. It is common for the door latch to break down due to material fatigue and/or continually slamming or opening the door quickly. This part measure roughly 5.5 inches wide, 1.5 inches high and 2.5 inches deep. This OEM kit is sold as a single part.

This is a single rack track stop clip used to prevent the upper dish rack from sliding all the way out of the dishwasher. It is made of gray plastic and can wear with time. This is an easy repair that should not take very long to complete. Start by opening the dishwasher door, depress the tabs to remove both the front stop clips and remove the upper dish rack from the appliance. Now, using your small flat head screwdriver, release the retaining tab to remove the rear stop track that you are replacing, and pull the clip up to remove it. Install the new clip by inserting it into the support rail from the top and press it down to secure it in place.

If your dishwasher door is not opening or closing properly, it may be time to install a new balance kit. This part helps to support the weight of the door as it opens and closes. You should also check on the condition of the door springs as well, as they work with the balance kit and may also need to be replaced when you do this repair. This genuine OEM parts kit includes two door balance links and two door balance mounts with wheels, which will replace both the left and righthand sides. If you do need to replace the springs, please note that these are sold separately and are not part of this kit. Installing the parts is a simple job, however you will need access to both sides of your dishwasher. This will require pulling it out from under your counter or cabinets. You will need a 5/16 nut driver to remove and replace the new balance mounts, and you may need a Philips screwdriver to remove the mounting hardware in order to pull your dishwasher out to work on. This kit can also be known as a door spring cable kit, or the door cable kit.

Broken balance link nylon cord (cable) due to improper installation. Too much tension.
Looked at video and followed instructions. Be sure to set the link assembly at correct angle - follow what you see in video. The assembly should be straight up & down, not at an angle. Setting at angle causes too much tension on the nylon cord (cable) and makes the door hard to open and keeping in one position. Read more...

Leo from MEDFORD, OR
Soap dispenser did not work properly
I turned the dishwasher breaker off and turned off the water supply in case I had to move the dishwasher out to remove the door cover. I removed the screws with a star tip screwdriver on the inside cover of the door. Since I was able to remove the dispenser without completely removing the cover, I didn't have to move the dishwasher out further. (I had about four inches of room to remove the dispenser). I had to pry the metal flanges on the door cover out a little that were surrounding the dispenser's bottom to bypass the small plastic edges holding the dispenser tight against the door cover. I removed the small wiring connector by pressing the small plastic retainer and pulled out the connector. I had a little bit of trouble removing the two plastic fastener clips holding the wiring to a bracket. I used a needle nosed plier to close the upper plastic tines to pull the clips through the holes. After I removed the old dispenser, I bent the metal flanges on the door cover back in. I pushed the new dispenser into the door cover and made sure I heard the the sound of the metal flanges clip onto the plastic lips of the dispenser. I turned the water and power back on and tested the operation of the new dispenser. The dispenser worked properly. Read more...

Started leaking under the door. The rubber door gasket appeared to be breaking down, very soft.
I soaked the new door gasket in warm soapy water while I removed the old gasket. This is the rubber seal inside the washer that closes off the sides and top of the door. Gently pulling on the old gasket removed it, then the new one slide right into place. Took about 5 minutes or less. Read more...

If there is still water left in your dishwasher after it has finished running, there may be an issue with your drain pump. The pump is designed to remove water from the tub, and if that is not happening then it could be due to damaged that is causing the motor not to run or a crack causing a leak. If a new pump is required, this is a genuine OEM replacement part. Completing this repair will be easiest if you pull the dishwasher out from under the cabinet. You will need to disconnect both the water and electrical supply to the appliance before starting.
