This kit includes the black plastic handle (white handle is no longer available from the manufacturer), the latch, and two switches. The door handle and latch assembly is a simple on/off mechanism that prohibits the dishwasher from operating when the door is open. Symptoms of a faulty door handle and latch assembly include the door not latching properly, being unable to close the door, leaking during operation, and the dishwasher not starting. It is common for the door latch to break down due to material fatigue and/or continually slamming or opening the door quickly. This part measure roughly 5.5 inches wide, 1.5 inches high and 2.5 inches deep. This OEM kit is sold as a single part.

The latch is used to the keep the door secured while the appliance is operating, and will not allow the dishwasher to run if the door is opened. Regular wear and tear can result in the assembly becoming damaged, but you can prolong the life of the part by being gentle when opening and closing the dishwasher door. A Torx screwdriver is necessary for this repair, and you will need to access the inner panel and disconnect and reconnect the wire harnesses to the latch. Be sure to disconnect the power supply to the dishwasher before beginning this repair.
