It is designed to snap if your auger gets jammed or clogged, to protect your snow blower from further damage. Because this part is meant to snap at a certain point of pressure, it is a commonly replaced part in snow blowers. Consequently, we recommend keeping a spare on hand. This Shear Pin is approximately 1.75" long, and is sold individually.

Remove eight bolts and two skid shoes and bottom sheave plate. Replace in reverse order.
