This handle works on both the fridge and freezer door, and if yours has become damaged it should be replaced. This is a genuine OEM replacement part, and is sold individually. If you need to replace both handles, please be sure to order the correct quantity. This is an easy repair that requires the use of a Phillips screwdriver. If the old handle is still attached to the door, remove the two screws (located at the top of the fridge door, or bottom of the freezer door) and then slide the opposite end off of the single screw. When attaching the new handle, do this in the opposite order. Slide the keyhole in the handle onto the individual screw on the door, then line up the other end of the handle and insert the two screws to secure the handle to the door.

The original freezer handle 530-450-6469 had a sharp corner that could hurt one’s head upon coming up when reaching for a lower shelf in the refrigerator. I replaced it with door handle 218428101 which has a tapered end.
To take out the old handle, you simply take out the screws from the bottom and then you rotate the handle counterclockwise, and it released the top part of the handle from that screw hook. To put on the new handle I just did the reverse but since my new handle was not the official handle for the fridge, it did not fit the old screw holes but it did coincide with other screw holes that were plugged. I did not yet drill the screws into the new plugged area but just put on duct tape and it seems to be holding just fine. If I cared about the aesthetics, I would just drill the holes into the plugged screw holes. Read more...

This door rack is for the bottom shelf of your refrigerator door, the top and middle shelf racks are sold separately. Please note that these doors racks are sold individually and not part of a kit. This particular part measures approximately 23 inches wide and is made of white plastic. This is a certified OEM part, which ensures it fits your fridge properly. Replacing the door rack (also known as a retainer bar) is a simple process and does not require any tools. Worn out motor was noisy
I watched the you tube video before ordering the part. The changeout is easy, but remove the plastic fan without breaking it, as one does not come with the kit. I took a few photos as I proceeded with the motor removal. The photos were useful later when reinstalling the parts. Don't forget to unplug the fridge. Read more...

This is a genuine OEM ice maker assembly for your refrigerator. The ice maker makes eight cubes at a time, by filling the mold with water from the inlet valve, freezing the water until the cubes are formed, and then ejecting them into the storage bucket. This process will repeat until the ice bucket is full. If your device is not making ice cubes, the ice maker assembly may need to be replaced. Please ensure that you disconnect the power and water supply to your fridge before beginning this repair. This kit includes the fill cup, a four-pin wire harness adapter, and tube.

Ice maker stopped making ice
Loosened 2 screws on left side freezer wall. Disconnected wire harness. Took out ice maker. Made sure screws extended far enough out to fit the new ice maker over them. Connected the wire harness. Put ice maker onto the 2 screws. Tightened the screws. Within a few hours we had ice. NOTE: use a mirror or you will fish blindly trying to find and tighten the screws. With the mirror, it was easy. Simply pull up on the old rack to remove it, then line up the clips on the end caps and snap the new rack into place.

Fridge & Freezer not cold enough
Before I replaced the defrost timer & temperature cold control thermostat, I 1st replaced the high % parts that go bad (defrost thermostat & run capacitor) -no luck, so I decided to replace the (2) remaining parts that typically go bad -defrost timer & temperature cold control thermostat. I noticed my model number did not come up exact to the models on the site here, but all of the parts I ordered were almost identical to the ones replaced. This is an easy repair: disconnect power, remove items from the fridge and the top shelf. remove the plastic cover that houses the light, thermostat, and timer -there are (4) small screws that you can easily remove with a small socket driver. Once the screws are removed, the unit will hang down and you can unplug the main wiring harness to remove the whole cover and its contents from the fridge. The back of the cover fits snug to the underside of the freezer (this is where the cold air for the fridge comes from). The thermostat sits in a housing w/ (3) electrical wire connectors that need to be unplugged, along with the thermostat control knob. Once these are all disconnected, the thermostat can come out of the housing, along with the integral wire that runs along the housing towards the back of the cover. You will also need to gently remove the small piece of insulation in the back of the cover to properly remove and install the new thermostat wire. There was a plastic sleeve on my old thermostat wire, I simply slid this off and put over the new wire. Put the new thermostat control back in (make sure this is not put in upside down -there is an "off" setting on the dial -you can hear it click once the dial reaches it) and fit the new wire back in along the cover where it was sitting originally along with insulation. Defrost timer is held in place with small screws -simply remove screws and replace with new timer. Plug in the wire harness, reinstall cover, shelf, plug in and turn control dial so fridge will cool off. This make take 12-24 hours. Read more...

If you have frost building up in your freezer, or the temperature in your fridge is running too warm, there may be an issue with the defrost thermostat. This thermostat sits on the top of the evaporator and protects it from overheating when the defrost cycle is running. It does this by regulating the temperature in your appliance, and should shut off the heater once the frost has melted off the coils. If you need a new thermostat, this is a genuine OEM replacement part. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your fridge before beginning this repair.

This part includes one refrigerator door shelf end cap, which is compatible with either the left or right side. This durable white plastic part is sourced directly from the original manufacturer and is used to hold the door bin on the refrigerator door. To remove it you will need to remove that end of the shelf by pressing upwards or downwards on it. Once it is removed you should be able to just pull the end cap off by hand. Place the new end cap on by aligning it with the locking tabs on the rail and snapping it into place. Then you will snap it into the opening on the shelf of the fridge.

Freezer stopped cooling
On the compressor are two components. The first is the start relay which allows voltage to pass through to the compressor when it's called to run by the thermostat. The second is the thermal override which protects the compressor by shutting it down when over heated. Both are plugged into the three compressor power prongs. Thermal is plugged into the top prong, starter relay to the two lower prongs. To start the repair, pull the two wire leads off of the components. Take a pair of needle nose pliers and gently pull out the starter relay. Next pull out the thermal override. Make sure the compressor windings aren't bad by testing the leads with an ohm meter. There are how to's on the web but basically place the ohm meter in its lowest setting and take a reading between the two bottom prongs. Write this number down. It should have a resistance of about 10.5 ohms. Next, take a reading between the top and bottom left prongs and then do the same on the right side. Add the left and right reading together and they should equal the initial reading that you took across the bottom prongs (10.5ohms) or so. If not, your compressor is the issue. If all tests out OK, replace the start relay in the reverse order of disassembly. The switchout takes all of 15 minutes to perform. Made my freezer like new. Read more...
