This is a refrigerator water inlet valve and mounting bracket. It is responsible for releasing water from the supply line when triggered, which makes its way through to the water dispenser and/or icemaker in your refrigerator. It is located behind the refrigerator, connected to the water supply. This part is prone to material fatigue from normal use. A defective water valve could cause a lack of ice production, and your water dispenser to stop working properly. If the solenoids no longer have continuity or the valve is plugged, it will need to be replaced. For this repair, you will need to pull the refrigerator out from the wall and disconnect the water and power connection.
