Motor Replacment
I ordered the wrong motor for my dryer PN PS3500892, the right one was PN PS11741125, the motor specs were the same but the shaft were different lengths and different blower fan and fasteners. Since I had the wrong motor in hand I worked with Parts Select to order the correct blower fan and fasteners for this motor. Got it all installed and everything fit as it should. even though this was a different part than I had before it saved me $100 by doing it this way, Thanks to Parts Select for helping me through this maze with me asking many questions about part sizes and fasteners. They did this all for my savings. Most parts places would not have gone this far for the customers benefit. Thank you very much Parts Select !

No Heat when Dryer was running/Clothes did not dry
First, unplug the dryer.
Second, remove the front of the dryer by removing the two screws at near bottom on both the left and right. These look like security Torx with the post in the center but you can remove them with a small flat-blade screwdriver.
Third, remove the wires from heating element on the right. There are the two power connections (one each at about 2 and 7 oclock) and two for the sensor at 11 oclock. You probably want to user pliers to remove these just in case...
Fourth, remove the two 1/4" screws holding the heater element in place. One is in the front center, the other is at about 1 oclock at the rear.
Pull straight out and the element comes free.
Fifth, remove the circuit interrupter from the old unit and install it on the new unit. Be sure to move the jumper from the heating element power (about 5 oclock) and the interrupter.
Sixth, install the heating element. The element is a cylinder of metal. I found that I needed to bend in the seam at the back very slightly to get it to fix back in.
Seventh, alight the screw holes and replace the 1/4" screws.
Eighth, reattach the wires, being careful to replace each where it came from.
Ninth, replace the dryer front...and your done.

Squeaking / squealing while running dryer
Disassembly of this model dryer is from the front panel. First remove the door (4 screws). Next, pull the front panel off (two clips top, two latches bottom - no tools needed). Romove two screws holding top latches from either side. Raise the top, then remove four screws and two 'bolts' for front panel. After you take the front panel off, then remove two screws holding front tumbler support. NOTE: Pay attention to belt routing prior to removal of belt and tumbler. Remove belt and tumbler. Access to the idler arm is now easy. Remove one screw holding idler arm to motor and replace parts. Assembly is reverse. Hint: Hang the belt over the tumbler and reach under to route belt on assembly.

Grindingt sound when I pressed start. It would finally start if the load of clothes was light, but with a heavy load it would not start. Eventually would not start even when empty
View other stories on PartsSelect to confirm that the motor was the issue. Disassembly already well document in other stories. Hardest part was (1) getting the clamps off the old motor and back on the new motor, and (2) determining the correct configuration for the belt when reassembling. Seemed obvious afterwards, but take note of the belt when disassembling. Did not replace any other parts, and it works great now. Including cleaning out the dryer, it took me 4+ hours, but I could probably do it again in 1 to 2 hours.

Motor was locking up
Unplug the Dryer removed the 2 screws in the door and the two screws opposite the door and then you remove the front panel and then you remove the 6 screws that hold the front tub support and then rotate the tub support watching the wires out of your way. lift the tube out leaving the belt behind. Then remove the screws in the front of the blower and remove the clip on the blower shaft and the blower wheel should slide off of shaft. Then remove the wiring clip from the back of the motor by pressing the clips on each side and then lifting. Then remove the two spring clips that hold the motor down and remove motor. install new motor in reverse order and then install tube with the belt around the tub using it like a handle. then put the front support back on and reassemble the rest in reverse order.

Both motor clips broken - >40 year old dryer!!
Removed the back - Saw the broken clips on the base of the dryer (the wires to the motor were pulling out because the motor was slipping).
Guessed that the parts were motor clips (no pix in the web site!)
Got the parts in post - they were identical except needed some rubber grips inside to hold tight (Used pieces of bike tire inner tube cut to fit for this.) Attached clips. Works fine!!
(Son is an engineer - he found the problem. Husband is a retired doctor - he couldn't!! but together they
supplied the muscle)

Noisy idler pulley
Removed power to the dryer by turning the dryer AC breaker in the breaker panel "off". Removed dryer door and front panel with phillips screwdriver and/or nut driver. Removed spring tensioner from idler arm and shaft assy. Slipped off drive belt and removed idler/shaft assy with 5/16 open end wrench (or maybe 11/32, don't remember the exact size). No need to remove drum, you can get both hands in there, also used a flash light and mirror to locate the mounting screw. Mounted the new pulley on the new shaft assy, using the old washers and clip. Glad I ordered the shaft assy because it was scored up pretty bad. The pulley just has a bushing/sleeve, not a roller bearing. (I put a tiny dab of light gease on the shaft before mounting the new bearing.) Replaced the shaft assy, hooked up the spring and replaced the belt onto the pulley. Reassembled the front panel and door and was good to go.
