GQB7429VC119 General Electric Dishwasher - Instructions

Super Easy! just follow the video.

I ordered a drain valve shaft seal and new push on nut after reading similar stories of leaking problems on-line. I was pretty sure the leak was coming from the dump valve seal.

With repair parts on-hand, I took my dishwasher out during kitchen remodeling. I put the dishwasher on it's left side and removed the solenoid rod (lifts out on its own) and the dump valve's white plastic lever. I removed the old push on nut and pulled out the old washer with a small screwdriver. I then installed the new washer paying close attention to the supplied directions that said to install it with the lip in the correct direction. I then slipped on the new push on nut. The new push on nut is necessary since the old one will be destroyed in trying to remove it. I attacked it with needle nose plyers, a nail, and a small screwdriver before getting it bend and become loose enough to slide off. Care must be taken not to damage the shaft and groove. If you are generally handy at repairs, this repair will be easy.

I just hooked it up a few days ago and ran a cycle and no leak. Countertops will be installed in 4 days and the dishwasher will then get used frequently. I have faith the repair will hold and the dishwasher will remain leak free.

Luckily PartSelect was available to order the $20 repair parts and keep my faithful dishwasher on-line. Saved me the cost of a new $500 unit. I know this dishwasher cleans well and I don't have to risk buying a new one just to find out it doesn't clean as well.

took the moter off and the impellar off replaced the impeller .back and turn the washer back on but it still wouldnt .wash .the moter wouldnt turn .so had the moter tested and it was the moter . found out how and what to look for on you tube .it was a big help in how to fix your washer .typed in model and what kind portable .it was easy .thank you for haveing my part also .and shipping was real fast .

Well disassembly was good - removed the spring cam assembly on the dump valve cam, then two screws of the solenoid to remove the solenoid, beyond that the repair became a little tough since the seal / shaft retainer wasdifficult to remove. The shaft has a grove which the retainer clip is hard to remove from, and once removed - it deformed, so i installed the seal using a nut driver as a seal press to evenly press it into place. then had to work the retainer with a small set of pliers to reshape it, then reaasembled in place which is when i realized why it was hard to get off due to the shaft grove, which as well as holds the seal it also aligns the shaft latteraly in the pump housing, but after putting it all together and firing up the dishwasher, no leaks and it was an hour laying on my side which i feel was worth it, thx jon

followed instructions that came with the part. My dishwasher had a slightly different configuration than what the directions said so disassembly took a few minutes to figure out. Once that was done, the removal of the old impeller assembly and installation of the new went quite smoothly. The replacement assembly had a "grater" which was not present on my original however it installed perfectly and no longer leaks.

Pulled the dishwasher out and turned on its back and pulled out the seal. Saw it was bad and order one. It was here in two days and fixed that afternoon. Great service and quick delivery!!! Will use this site again!!

The problem started that no water came into the dishwasher.My first idea was a defect timer and second the water inlet selenoid valve.Non of the two ideas was correct, therefor I went into the lower part of the washer and I found that I had a water leak on the selenoid area with the main valve which select water circulation or water drain.The couse of the leak was an defective seal and the whole movement of the drain valve was stucked in one position. After cleaning the shaft and selenoid and replacing the seal every thing worked again as new. Thanks for your help and instructions how to replace the seal.

Removed solenoid asy. Removed clip and seal installed new seal . Put back together . Fixed!

laid on floor, removed 2 screws, took off selenoid,removed push nut with small screw driver and needlenose pliers,removed rubber seal with small pocket knife.cleaned shaft, Put new seal on then new push nut,put the rest of parts removed back on. Ran dishwasher through rince cycle to check for leaks. Works Fine, No Leaks! entire job took 15 minutes. best part is cost $26.76 not $200.00 for repair man.Thank You PartSelect!(had part in 2days)

I removed 2 lower front axcess panels,removed "e" clip on plastic cam on drain solenoid with a small pick,removed 2 springs with needle nose pliers,remove 2 mounting screws holding solenoid to drainvalve. remove push on nut on drainvalve shaft with a set of side cutters I bent it in half and cut it off then used the pick again to remove the seal. i soaked the new seal in warm water with a little dih soap so it was more flexible when sliding it into the seal seal , then with a deep well socket just big enough to go around the drain valve shaft i pressed the push on nut into place. i then revirsed the steps to reinstall valve sloenoid screws,cam & springs ran the dishwasher to check for leaks and then reinstalled the lower covers. total time took about 30 min ps have a magnet around for when you drop the "e" clip (and you will) trying to reinstall it! good luck.

Followed easy instructions and completed repair in less than 30 minutes.

i found the part and order it on the site sooooo easy. it came in no time , i took the old one out in 10 seconds and place the other one (NEW) in place in less than a minute.it works fine and thanks to u alllllll

I didn't see any obvious defects in the washer like a plugged drain or obstruction in the pump intake, so I decided to try a new lower spray tower. I loosened the tower with a large pair of channelocks (arc joint pliers) by grabbing it near the base. The unit unscrews in the normal manner, i.e. counterclockwise. Once it's loose, it can be removed by hand. Thread in the new tower and snug it down. Done. Cleaning problem solved.

easy......unscrew the old one...clean the threads make sure there is no broken piece of part where its installs....take new part screw it in.....hand tight....check it for clearance......and thats it.....

Dishes were not being cleaned, so the first thing I did was take the float cover off and cleaned the soap gunk off (it was getting stuck open). That solved about 50%. I could tell that the spray arm was gunked (and partially clogged) so I replaced it with this one. A pipe wrench got around the base and I torqued it loose and off, cleaned the inside with a paper towel, and I put the new one on hand tight. Dishwasher works like new again.
