There are many symptoms that may indicate an issue with your water inlet valve. These can include your washer not filling with water, it will not stop filling, the washer is leaking, or it is both filling and draining at the same time. You can test if your valve is faulty two different ways. The first is to disconnect the power while the washer fills, if water continues to fill the tub, then the valve should be replaced. The second way is to use a multimeter to test for continuity on the valve solenoids. If you do need to replace the water inlet valve, this is a genuine OEM part that has two ports and is compatible with half-inch ID hose. Before beginning your repair, please be sure to disconnect the power and water supply to your washing machine.

If your washer is leaking, will not fill with water, or will not stop filling, there may be an issue with your water inlet valve. This part is used to control the flow of hot and cold water into the washer. If there is reduced water flow, first check if the screens on the valve are blocked with debris. A multimeter can be used to test if the valve is faulty or not. Please be sure to disconnect both the power and water supply to your washer before replacing the valve.

This water inlet valve attaches the water lines to the back of your appliance. The attaching solenoids on the valve open and close according to the desired temperature, or amount of water needed. Sometimes these valves are called mixing valves, because they essentially mix the cold and hot water together to create “warm” water. Another common term is water solenoid.
