This thermostat sits on the top of the evaporator and protects it from overheating when the defrost cycle is running. It does this by regulating the temperature in your appliance, and should shut off the heater once the frost has melted off the coils. If you need a new thermostat, this is a genuine OEM replacement part. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your fridge before beginning this repair.
