Defrost Timer - 60Hz 120V
Fix Number FIX423801
Manufacturer Part Number 215846602
If your freezer will not defrost, or your fridge and freezer are too warm, there may be an issue with the defrost timer. This device helps to melt ice that builds up on the evaporator coils. It does this by cycling on the heater circuit for thirty minutes after every eight hours that the compressor has been running. There is also a dial on the timer that can be advanced in and out of defrost mode if you need to adjust things manually. If frost is allowed to build up, it can reduce airflow and the efficiency of your appliance. If you need to replace the defrost timer, this is an authentic OEM part. It measures approximately 3 inches long and 2.5 inches wide, with 60Hz and 120V. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your fridge before beginning this repair.

Ice maker stopped making ice
Loosened 2 screws on left side freezer wall. Disconnected wire harness. Took out ice maker. Made sure screws extended far enough out to fit the new ice maker over them. Connected the wire harness. Put ice maker onto the 2 screws. Tightened the screws. Within a few hours we had ice. NOTE: use a mirror or you will fish blindly trying to find and tighten the screws. With the mirror, it was easy. Worn out motor was noisy
I watched the you tube video before ordering the part. The changeout is easy, but remove the plastic fan without breaking it, as one does not come with the kit. I took a few photos as I proceeded with the motor removal. The photos were useful later when reinstalling the parts. Don't forget to unplug the fridge. Read more...
