Not heating, Not Drying
I opened the dryer with instructions from Youtube, and look for the parts that I thought had the problem: Flame sensor and Ignition Coil Kit. Put dryer back together and turned on, it works like a champ, :-) I requested a repairman from Sears and he told me to just buy a new one, because the part needed cost $459.00, but for some reason it made no sense to me, so I went to this site and put the model number of my dryer and the problem, and they suggested that I replace the flame sensor. This thermal fuse limiter is used in dryers to monitor the temperature and make sure it does not overheat. The thermal fuse has a limit of 220 degrees Fahrenheit before the heating element and power are cut off. If your thermal fuse has blown or is damaged then your dryer will not start, can over heat, or take too long to dry. It is important to replace the fuse to solve the above problems. For this repair, you will need a Philips screwdriver, putty knife, and a needle nose plier. As a safety precaution, remember to unplug dryer from power source to avoid electrocution when installing this part. Refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for further instructions.

The two-terminal high limit thermostat has a limit of 260 degrees Fahrenheit and acts as a safety mechanism that keeps the dryer from overheating. The thermostat will cut out when the internal dryer temperature reaches 260 and then cuts back in when the temperature drops by 70 degrees Fahrenheit. If your dryer is not heating, you may need to replace the thermostat. This is a genuine OEM part. Please remember to disconnect the power to the dryer before starting your repair.

If your dryer has little to no heat, there may be an issue with your heating element assembly. The heater element is a genuine OEM part that is found at the back of the dryer. The heating element comes with a felt strip and insulators already attached. This part is used to provide heat in order to dry your laundry. It does this when the coil of nickel and chrome alloy wires resist the controlled electric current, and as a result the wires get hot. If you need to replace the heating element, please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your dryer before beginning this repair.

Drum Belt

The drum belt, also known as a drive belt, is a rubber piece that wraps around the dryer drum, idler pulley, and motor pulley and is used to make the drum rotate. If you can hear the motor running, but the drum is not spinning, it may be an issue with the drum belt. Since it is made of rubber, it can become brittle with age causing it to break. Alternatively, it could be stretched out and no longer gripping to the dryer drum. Both of these issues would require you to replace the belt. To do this repair you will need a putty knife to pop open the top and front panel of your dryer, and a Phillip head screwdriver. Be sure to disconnect the power to your appliance before beginning your repair. This drum belt measures 88 and 3/4 inches long by 1/4 inch wide. As it is a genuine OEM part, this size will be compatible with your appliance model.
