MAT14CSAWW0 Maytag Washer - Instructions

This was very easy. I just pushed the retaining clips off of the pump body (one top side, and one on the bottom) with my fingers. Then I used a pair of channel lock pliers to compress and relocate the spring clamps down the two hoses away from the pump body to remove their clamping action. I removed the hoses, then pulled the pump off of the motor shaft. I lined up the motor shaft with the flat spots in the new pump and installed the new pump in the reverse order. This process took about five minutes and was super easy.

I turned the washer on to see if I could determine where it was leaking from. After I figured out that it was the pump that was leaking, I ordered a new pump. I went with next day shipping because at our house, we can't go long without a washer and the cost for the shipping was worth it. Had it installed in 10 minutes, only tool needed was a pliers to remove the hose clamps, piece of cake repair!

First unplug washer and turn water off (both hot and cold) You only need to pull washer out away from wall about 1 1/2 feet. Take a putty knife and slide under the front corner of the control panel ( both sides one at a time) lift up corner as you slide putty knife under the corner. After both sides are released on the control panel slide control panel forward( about an inch) to release rear of panel and flip panel over the top. Unplug the lid safety switch then with a screw driver unsnap the cabinet straps one on both sides that were under the control panel. Put screw driver into the spring strap end closest to you and push screw driver back which will release the straps( one on each side). Next tilt the cabinet toward from the back( about 6 ") and lift up about 2 " the cabinet can now be removed. Undue the two hoses on the water pump that is located at the bottom of the washer in the front ( make sure you catch the water from the hoses in a small pan). Undue the two spring clips that hold the pump on. Pull pump straight out (about 1 ") discard old pump and install new one in reverse order. When reinstalling the cabinet there are two stubs on the bottom bracket on the washer that have to put into the slots in the lower front corners of the cabinet ( the hardest part of the whole project is putting the cabinet back on, the trick is what I described above with the slots in the lower front corners. Good luck it very easy to do.

Of course I tried to determine where the leak was from. There wasn't a solid flow of water and was confined to the front. Pulled the washer out and laid it down. Noticed that a metal clip had a little corrosion on it and followed it back to the water pump seal. Removed two hoses and unclipped the pump. That's it. No screws or nuts. Looks like it was expected to fail and was easy to replace. It did last for 20 years though.

First, we took the pump off and found that it was leaking. Ordered the part on line. The part arrived in four days as scheduled. The small pump was easy to replace with screwdriver and pliars.

Removed water supply hoses and took drain hose out of drain. Unplugged electrical cord. Turned washer over to see and reach pump easily. Flipped clips holding water pump. Moved hose clamps back on inlet and outlet hoses. Wiggled hoses off pump. Placed new pump and flipped clips back in place. Wiggled hoses back onto pump ports and replaced clamps to hold. Turned washer upright and reinstalled. Using channel lock pliers to move hose clamps was the hardest part.

I watched the instructional video on how to take apart and how to take washer a part and how to install the direct drive water pump. It was very easy to do. also the delivery was very fast. I will be using the site to fix other appiances that I have that is sitting around broken. Thanks for your speedy service and customer service.

the hard part was getting the pump off of the rusted centerpeice. i actually had to grab the pump with both hands, put my feet on the rotator and PULL. finally it basically snapped off and rusted peices went flying. after cleaning it the new pump went on rather easily, with the help of a rubber mallet.

I propped the unit on its side, then I removed the intake and discharge hose with pliers (remember to have a bucket handy for the extra water in the hoses.)
Secondly, there are two clips on the top and bottom of the pump which hold the unit snug against the motor. These simply pop off with your hand or a screwdriver (be careful to save these!) Now the pump should slide off the drive shaft easily but most likely it will not due rusting of the shaft. A pry bar or large screwdriver and some elbow grease will get the pump to slide off.
Installation is the reverse except you will have to sand off the rust on the shaft. Sand paper will do but I used a Dremel type grinder (die grinder) which made easy work of removing the rust. Finally, sliding the new pump in is remarkably easy.
Installation of the new pump should take less than 10 minutes with a clean driveshaft.

Frist I removed the two water hoses going to the pump. Second releaseed the two clips holding the pump , it came right off the motor shaft.
Third, put the new pump on the shaft, put the clips on last the hoses good to go.

laid washer on side, used butter knife to pry off spring clips. there is just enough room to get pump off the shaft .Unhook two hoses then install new pump.

The new pump arrived at my door just a few days after it was shipped.

Once I got the water hoses off and the clips holding the pump I had to use a large screwdriver to get the pump off the motor shaft. I then tried putting the new pump on but it wouldn't fit. I noticed that the motor shaft was flaired out (possibly due to rust) so I used a Dremel Tool with a grinding disk to carefully grind down the shaft to what it looked like it was supposed to be. Once that was done the pump easily slipped into place. I attached the pump clamps and hoses and pushed the washer back into place. I ran a quick test and then later a load of laundry. No more leaks!

Using the part select website, I discovered that 64% of the time, replacing the water pump will fix the drain problem so I ordered that part. I laid the washer on it's back. And was able to unclip the water hoses, detach the pump and install the new one. The parts select website has great instructional videos to help but in this case, the video recommended removing the outer skin from the washer which I found unnecessary.

I followed the you tube instructions. The hardest part was realigning the washer housing on the lower frame.

I disconnected the washer from the water supply lines.turned the washer on it's back. took two hoses off the water pump.Unsnapped two spring clip's.Took the old pump off and installed the new pump.That is all there was to it.
