Loud Squeeking
First, used a putty knife to open the top of the dryer. Second, unscrewed the front panel and removed it by pulling up and out. The drum drops down slightly after doing this. Third, open the back grating and disconnect the belt from the motor and idle pulley. Fourth, Pull the drum (with belt) out through the front opening. Jerk up HARD on the back of the drum to disconnect it from the bearing seat. Fifth, replace bearing parts and seat according to diagram. I found it very difficult to unscrew the bearing axle from the drum. Had to hold down the drum and press hard to get screws to turn without stripping. Finally, put back together in reverse, don't forget to put A LOT of grease in your new bearing seat before reconnecting.

rear bearing failure
after cutting the power, I used a putty knife to release the two holding clips ot remove the top,, 2 foward facing screws on either side of the front and two cap covered screws holding the bottom and unhooked the two electricial connections for the control panel and removed the front panel. Since this was a stack unit and in a closet most work had to be done from the front. By reaching inside to remove the belt from the motor, removing the drum was the easy part, to get to the bearing, but unfortunatly I had to remove the dryer from the closet to replace the back bearing clip and ball. After that replacing the bearing bracket and housing it was a breeze. Getting the unit back in the closet was a slight struggle, but it all worked out for the best got a chance to cleas behind the dryer, and the repaire was successful, phew.

latch assembly popped out partially on door and when it shut it broke the catch on the dryer.
Popped in new catch and used needle nose pliers to squeeze old latch flat and remove from door. New one just popped into place.

Dryer Made Loud Squeal During Operation
I set up my laptop with the partselect video going. Laid out my tools and the individual parts that were in the kit. I watched the video a segment at a time, performing the tasks in the same manner that the instructor did. All together, the process took less than two hours, I had no questions or difficulties, and the repair process went flawlessly and successfully. I had never done anything more complicated on a dryer than replacing the hose before this. The sense of pride in doing a repair of this level myself, and avoiding paying someone ridiculous fees to do it, is beyond description.

Rear drum bearing worn out
Basically followed the You tube videos on standard, stand alone dryers as mine is a stack-able unit. Allow a lot of room to work. Unplug electricity and or the gas, vent hose and water hoses. Start removing screws as per the video, remove Belt then lift up then out the dryer drum. (The drum drops in from above on the back of the unit)the rest is remove and replace as you go. *TIP... I use my phone to photograph tricky areas so I can review as needed. It was more scary then difficult. You can do it!

replace rear bearing
This was a stacked washer and dryer combo and is a lot more difficult to repair, requiring a lot more to take apart and put back together.

Scraping noise at rear of drum
Watched video on you tube went to PartSelect web site determined it was the rear bearing from the probable causes listed. Received part in two days and the job took less than thirty minutes. The limited access to the belt motor was the only difficult part of the job but by putting the belt on the idler pulley first and pulling down on the belt I was able to get it over the motor pulley. Thanks PartSelect for making this job easier than I thought it would be.
