Inconsistent squeal
I followed the instruction video on the Partselect.com website exactly except that I accessed the tensioner pulley through a panel on the rear of my dryer. Very clear and concise.

Loud banging noise as clothes were drying
I was amazed at how quickly my order came - using normal shipping through FedEx - the video was especially helpful. I saw there an easier way to get to the problem than I had used in the past. The front of the dryer bin was very accessible - removing just 4 screws. One thing I did different from the video - was that I only moved the belt into the groove at the back of the drum, so I left it inside the dryer shell - and only moved it out far enough to replace the wheels. This way I didn't have to reposition the belt on its pulleys. Our Maytag dryer was purchased in 1983 - and with the parts from PARTSELECT we expect to use it for a long time still.

Dryer noisy during start and operation
the rear left roller is attached to the dryer with a shaft that has a nut on the end of it, so replacing it was considerably easier than on the right side, which required removing the retainer clip.
Once I got the small back panel off, it was a pretty simple process to replace the roller with a socket - while supporting the weight of the drum with one hand, it took about 5 minutes to replace the roller and re-fasten the nut to complete the job!

On our Maytag dryer, the drum rests on rollers in the back and 2 smooth glides on the front. The glides had worn down completely causing the metal drum to rub against the metal rim of the dryer as it turned. We discovered the problem because metal shavings were causing dark orbital shaped marks on
Took the front and the lint catcher off the dryer to expose the front of the drum and the glides. On our dryer the drum rests on a roller in back and smooth glides in front which are held in place by rivets. these glides had worn down to the metal so that the drum was grinding against the metal ridge as it turned. Drilled out the existing rivets using a 1/8" drill bit. Took out remains of old glides and inserted new. Rivets came with the kit and it was easy to assemble. Put it all back together and now the dryer works beautifully!!

dryer was making a noise at start up
I followed the video on the site for the most part. My neighbor helped me maneuver the drum. The noise stopped after the repair that day, but unfortunately it started up again a few days later. Now it is intermittent. I don't know what the problem is :(

Dryer Drum Support Roller Was Broken Causing Loud Noise
Removed the front panel with a screwdriver, removed the next panel with a socket, pulled out the drum and belt, removed the drum roller support and shaft with a wrench and replaced those parts. I then put everything back together.

Sqeaking Drum Support Roller
I went online and found a video that showed how to do the repair. Although the video showed completely removing the drum; I was able to do the repair by moving the drum to the left and right to access the rollers. By not completely removing the drum I was able to skip reinstalling the belt and re-threading the belt around the tensioners. I found installing the belt slightly difficult the first time I removed the drum when I tried to grease the drum roller. That repair didn't last very long. By not removing the drum the total time to repair the dryer took less than twenty minutes!

dryer very noisy while drum was turning
I followed the descriptions from other do-ti-yourselfers on your web site and the "fix" was quick and easy. It took me longer to file my snap-ring pliers , made in China of course, to fit the snap-rings than it did to make the repair.

Loud, Rmbling Noise during entire drying cycle.
When the dryer noise grew to an unbearable level, professional opinion indicated that it was "definitely" caused by the drum support rollers. First I ordered the wrong rollers and Parts Select was kind enough to let me return them. Then I got the right parts and with internet-sourced instructions, they were relatively easy to replace, although it did require removal of the drum. But that didn't solve the problem. Another round of research said that the noise was "probably" the blower fan. I ordered the right fan and in much less time than it took to install the support rollers, I put in the new blower fan (it didn't require removal of the drum). That solved the problem. While the support rollers may wear out, I strongly suggest that you look at the blower fan first when the dryer makes too much noise. It's a cheaper and easier repair and that part is more likely to cause the rumble.

Loud drum rollers
Watched the repair video, went from there. My belt tensioner was different than what was shown on the video. That took a little more time to figure out how to reinstall. A picture is worth a thousand words when it comes to repairs! Thanks

After 30 yars the dry was really noisey.
First I'd like to say I ordered the parts one day and got them the next. That kind of service is awesome!
Pulled off the front panel (Removed the 2 screws at bottom then lifted up and out from the bottom. Set it to the side. Then removed the 4 screws holding the front of tub housing in place and pulled the housing to the side. Pulled the tub forward a few inches to expose the drum roller wheels located toward the back of the tub. Didn't pull the drum very far forward because I didn't want the drive belt to come off the pulleys. Removed the retaining clip from the first wheel and then removed the 2 rub washers and the wheel. Repeated the same to the other wheel. Pushed the tub back in place. Reached in around the tub and repositioned the belt to the front of the grove in the drum in which the wheels run. Reassembled the front tub housing, making sure the blower flange fit evenly and well into the felt sleeve. Reinstalled the front panel. Smiled when I turned on the dryer and it was quite. I didn't install the front glide kit though I may in the future since they are fairly warn.
