The timer became intermittent and needed replacement.
I removed the back cover of the control console (after unplugging the dryer of course), used a vacuum to clean several years of dust and lint, and sized up the job. Since nearly a dozen wires connected to the timer, I made detailed notes and a drawing to insure that each wire was reconnected in its proper location. Some of the wire connectors were quite difficult to reach and remove with my fingers, so I carefully used some needle-nose pliers to remove them. The timer was easily removed with a nutdriver. Replacement was a snap, especially since I had a great diagram for reconnecting the wires!

Lint screen was broken - replaced it with a new one.
There were no repairs - I just ordered a lint screen because the screen on the last one pulled away from the frame and wasn't doing a good job of catching the lint. Took approximately 2 seconds to push the new one in the slot.

Fast efficient delivery from Parts Select.com.

No need to publish this I'm sure.

The handle would not seat" , with the old dryer lint slot. Had to remove the handle and leave the medal holder , to which the handle was popped on, by slot and hooks.
I inserted the sharp kniife point, pryed back a flap , thus releasing the nylon locking hook, in the slot. then did the other side...I removed the white plastic handle, leaving the metal frame, which lay more flat in the filter channel. I put a box of screws on top of the dryer flap to keep it snug.. this is a Kenmore about 15 years old.

By simply replacing the lint filter our dryer now dries clothes in less than an hour like it did when it was new.

Prior to replacing the filter it would take 2 hours to dry a load of clothes.
