The plastic pieces broke that hold the rollers on the top rack
We did exactly what another customer told us to do. I ordered the part, which came extremely fast. We carefully snapped off the pieces on the rack, sometimes using a small screwdriver. The most difficult part was getting the rack adjuster to slide into the part. We used the other side as a guide to put it back together. We problably saved $200 in service calls by doing it ourselves. I ordered 2 just incase the other one breaks also - it is kind of loose. Shame on Kitchenaid for not making a better product!!!

Wheel broke on Rack Adjuster
I read the other fellow's report and was sceptical of replacing this part, that quickly, without breaking any of the other plastic pieces involved in the process. Decided to try it and only ordered the one necessary part (which came in two days). I was able to detach and reuse all surrounding plastic hardware while installing the new rack adjuster (~$24), and did it all with just one small-sized screwdriver. It was less than 15 minutes as the other fellow said.

Broke retaining clip for roller
Took out the rack adjuster (which contains the retaining clip for the roller) and replaced with the new rack adjuster. No tools required. Everything snaps in and out. Ten minutes. You can't rush though because its all plastic and can break.

The wheels on the upper shelve broke off [both sides]
The repair was easy once I reviewed previous customer reviews. The brakes easily pop out and snap in, with only the use of a screw driver. I did however, wish that directions has come with the product. Otherwise, a simple and cost effective repair.

Right side of the top rack fell off - the wheel broken
Instructions to replace the rack adjuster as follows:

(1) Slide the top tray out of the dish washer by turning the blue clips/stop (right side toward the right and left side toward the left) and place the top tray on a working surface.
(2) slide the part #12 (positioner) and #11 (adjuster clip) upward until it come out of the defect side of rack adjuster and push #9 (clip) out (from the outside) of the top rack. Keep all three parts, you will need them to put the new rack adjuster back.
(3) take the cover out of the housing (the box part you can adjust the height of the top rack, part #8 and 10 in the drawing)) by using a flat head screw driver to open the cover (there are two stubs on the bottom of the cover that you will need to pop it open).
(4) take the defect rack adjuster out and place the new one in.
(5) put the cover back to the housing and make sure when you press the blue handle down the rack adjuster can slide up and down.
(6) put $12, #11, #9 back , slide the top tray back to the dish washer, and close the blue clip/stop on both side.

rollers broke
Since I replaced both right and left sides, I simply took one apart and re-assembled it to match the other side. I honestly took about 5 minutes to do both sides. Parts fit great, exactly the same as the OEM original and I probably saved $75.00 in repair billing from a serviceman.

Broken Upper basket wheel assembly
Ordered one evening and it arrived in two days. It took a minute to understand how it was attached to the basket with three clips. Two on the sides and one in the middle. All need to be taken off and the one in the middle has another assembly that needs to be opened up to allow the old one to come out and the new one to go in. Perfect fit and the hardest part was taking it out of the wrapper.

Broken wheels on top rack
Parts ordered were a perfect match. Rack wheels on this model with a self adjusting rack cannot be replace individually. Therefore you need to order the self adjusting unit. First note how the self adjusted in attached to the rack wires. Remove the lower clips that have a sliding slot. Then find the "U" shaped clip on the inside of the rack, this is in the middle of the self adjuster and somewhat difficult to locate. Once these are removed the self adjuster will only be held in place by the adjusting handle attached to the rack. At this point find the two push pins holding the self adjuster together. these are located at the bottom and need to be pushed in, care not to break. Releasing the two pins will allow you to partially separate the self adjuster so that the old unit can be removed and the ordered unit can be installed. Reverse process for installation. Note if self adjuster is not working, you have miss aligned the handle with the replacement part.

top rack broken by children
Very easy to repair. Didn't have instructions, but not sure I needed more paper. I just copied the assembly of the other side of the rack that was not broken. Part came fast and was quick to put in.

The plastic clips holding the wheels on the upper rack broke
I gave the upper rack and parts to my husband. He gently pried the old one off and clipped the new back on. The hardest part was being gentle enough not to break anything more.

top shelf fell down and the wheels on the adjuster came off
I unsnapped the old adjuster and by looking at the one on the other side, I was able to just snap the new one in place. A huge repair savings and most importantly, I'm proud of myself!!

Plastic prongs that held the roller wheels in place had broken with three out of four roller wheels being prone to coming off of the rack adjuster. This resulted in the upper rack repeatedly falling off the tracks.
The repair was simple and self explanatory. The new adjusters were installed in the same way that the old ones had been.
