Rear Bowl tine broke, rusted through in one spot.
Ordered BOTH the front and rear tines as the front tine showed some superficial rust through the plastic covering in a couple of spots. Re-used the tine holders which were still solid condition and flexible. Snapped bowl holder tine unit out of dishwasher, snapped new tines in place, snapped unit back in dishwasher. Took 5 minutes or less. All other parts of the dishwasher rack were still in excellent condition with no cracked spots on the vinyl covering or rusted spots visible anwhere.

Two clips holding the adjustable shelf had broken off.
I didn't know how to put in the new one clips until I looked up a picture of them in place, on-line. Once I saw the picture, it was a matter of clipping the new ones in place.

After 22 years of virtually trouble -free service, I could tell by the sound that something was wrong. Water fill ran too long. Float not stuck. Checked and found float switch stuck.
Very simple. Remove bottom panels. Remove one screw holding old switch in place. Move wire connections from old switch to new one. Cleaned and lubed the switch actuator. Mounted new switch. Checked that float and actuator worked freely. Left bottom panels off till I ran a load - just to be sure all was OK. Remount bottom panels...Done! P.S. Don't forget to turn power off to dishwasher any time you work on it!!

Dishwasher tub wheel kept coming off of the axel pin
I reversed the tub wheel, cut off the protruding flanges so that the end of the axel pin was exposed. Then using a small socket I placed a split washer over the end of the pin, used the socket to hold the washer in place and tapped it into place with a hammer. Note there is a grove around the circumference of the pin which holds the split washer. This locked the tub wheel onto the pin and it still rolled freely. Unconventional but it worked great.

The dishes weren't coming real clean too much lime deposit buildup from hard water.
Removed top retaining piece by turning clockwise to remove spinning spray arm from bottom assembly. Removed the 6 retaining screws from the primary screen pump cover and lifted up. Removed filter and the four pronged piece that spins with the filter. Removed the 3 hex head screws that held the secondary filter assembly & pump cover in place. Removed center screw that held the bottom black plastic piece just above the secondary filter bottom. Inspected the cutter, then started reassembly in reverse for the replacement of new parts and filters.

Old dishrack was rusting apart
First you must understand that the end cap is not a solid piece. The plastic facing you is wrapped over the piece behind it. The separation may be obscured by age. Wedge thin bladed screwdriver into the outside edge of end cap at the bid point, a sturdy hunting knife will probably work better. When you hit the seam, pry it apart and fold it back. Unwrap the part and repeat on other side. The dishracks will easily slide out and in.

the cheap plastic handle cracked.
Turn off the power supply to the appliance. There is wiring you could mess up if something goes wrong. Open the door. Remove the four (4) torx head stainless steel screws on each side of the interior door panel. (total of 8). Then remove the two (2) torx head stainless steel screws near the top of the door on either side of the latch. Before you pry the interior door panel off, have handy a non-metallic weight, such as a brick or heavy book.. When you pull the interior door panel loose, the weight difference will cause the springs to pull the door up and closed. The brick will hold it open while you replace the cheap plastic handle. Do not try to fully removal the interior door panel as there are electrical wires attached. Just lien the interior door panel up onto the lower dish tray. You will need a 5/16" hex nut driver to remove the two (2) screws that hold the plastic handle on. Then, just reverse the whole process.

without any aggravation! wish I had found this site sooner!

No water from rotating lower spray arm or center spindle; soap dispenser lid would not open.
Had service man: stated I would need new motor/pump at $400 complete. I didn't like the interior of new dishwashers. Nothing to lose, so I verified that the motor was working; reviewed short PartSelect video. Ref: very helpful PartSelect assembly diagrams with parts list. THANKS PS! Removed two dish racks (top rack: extend fully and flip the roller-keeper clips. Pull rollers and rack-pins apart) Then I started taking the pump apart all the way down to the pump base (fits into tub with seal - did not replace that seal). Very intuitive - some parts are tight and must be encouraged to come apart; take care of seals and o-rings; take notes of sequence if necessary. Look for parts requiring replacement. Unscrew Spray Tower Lower Extension Nozzle and lift off Spray Arm and two lower spray arm seals - check seals for wear. Unscrew pencil-like Spray Arm Support Nut. Cause: I found a totally-clogged Pump Housing Filter, a bit of steel wool about the size of my thumb (same size as water supply opening in bottom), and small piece of broken glass. Cleaned all parts coated with lime; new Pump Housing Filter (could not clean adequately). Cleaned the screens underside of filter support (difficult) with brush and wire. Replaced o-rings for Wash Impeller and Drain Impeller as a matter of principle. Only alignment requirement is with bottom water supplly hole. Everything works like new now! Recommendation: clean Pump Housing Filter annually.

Grinding noise from Dishwasher
Excellent site. When the dishwasher started making a loud grinding sound, i thought "oh great -- now I'll have to buy a new one". After searching the internet (I just entered the model number of my Maytag dishwasher), Partsselect.com came up in the search results. I read several postings from previous customers which described the same problem I was having... followed their step-by-step instructions and was able to disassemble the lower washer arm and find the culprit -- a broken wash impeller. Ordered the parts, they arrived within a couple of days, spent 15 mins putting everything back together and I'm now good to go! THANKS PARTS SELECT!!!!! I owe somebody a free lunch!
