This is a genuine two cup dual wall 54mm filter for an espresso machine This dual wall filter basket is made of stainless steel and sold as an independent product. Please note that the one cup version is sold separately. The dual wall filter basket controls the pressure and helps to enhance the extraction, no matter what the grind, dose, tamp pressure or freshness. This type of filter should only be used with pre-ground coffee.

Original felt washer tore when cleaning the grinder

Unplug and remove machine
Remove top and back cover
Disconnect wiring from solenoid
Disconnect tubing from solenoid
Remove four phillip head screws

Install new solenoid in reverse order of above

The Steam Ring ensures an airtight seal to prevent hot water or steam from leaking between the Thermal Block Assembly and the Filter Holder Assembly. If your machine is leaking hot water or steam, it may be time to replace the Steam Ring, which tends to lose its ability to hold an airtight seal over time. Over time and thousands of uses, the grinding of the portafilter against the gasket causes the gasket to deteriorate and the seal to go bad.

A single hex screw secures the assembly. Remove it, pull off the upper filter, pry out the old gasket, swap in the new one, set the upper filter back in place, and secure it with that same screw. Read more...
