This part includes a single belt for a random orbital sander. It is located between the pad and the sander body. It helps to control the pad speed while the tool is off the work surface. The belt is a common wear part that will require replacement from time to time (along with the pad, which is sold separately). The belt should be replaced when the pad speed increase significantly when the unit is removed from the work piece. For this repair, remove the screws holding the pad in place, remove the pad, replace the damaged belt by wrapping it around the shoulder screw and bearing retainer. Reinstall the pad and re-tighten the screws, being careful not to over-tighten them.
