O-rings are made to contain thousands of PSI pressure by creating a seal between two or more parts. O-ring measurements are defined by the inside diameter and the thickness. rnrnThere are many causes for O-Ring failure. The most common among power tools are: • Extrusion and Nibbling - The O-ring has ragged, tattered edges. These are commonly caused by pressure spikes which shear off tiny "bites" from the o-ring, or caused by clearance gaps. • Abrasion - One or both sides of the o-ring appear rough and slightly flattened. Commonly caused by a contact surface that it too rough, contains grit or is too smooth to allow lubrication. • Over Compression - The O-ring is flattened on both sides and may have a "ring" split along its length. Commonly caused by excessive pressure or heat. • Heat Hardening - The O-ring has a pitted or cracked surface, and is often flattened on both sides. Caused by temperature exceeding o-ring capacity. • Weather/Ozone Cracking - The O-ring is covered in small surface cracks. Caused by exposure to ozone, UV rays and air pollution. Excessive seal stretching (greater that 5%) causes similar cracking.

This fan is an OEM direct from Craftsman for air compressors. This part cools the air compressor and connects to end of the motor shaft to prevent the air compressor from overheating. You will need a screwdriver, a socket set and a power drill to replace this part. This fan is made of plastic and is sold individually.

Air compressor was over heating and wouldn't restart after the first shut off.
Remove 1 Torx screw on end where air feeds into tank itself. Remove 2 Torx screws on other end. Pry cover apart. There are tabs that hold cover together. Remove screw that holds fan on. (my fan had dry rotted and had fallen off) Move shaft to lowest position and turn fan where hole is at the bottom. Slide onto shaft and replace bolt. Spin fan by hand to make sure it will rotate without going outside of where the cover will be when it is replaced. Put back cover on and replace the single screw. Snap front cover on and replace last 2 screws. You should be done. Plug up compressor and make sure it works correctly. Read more...

This high-quality OEM metal hose clamp is a part found in air compressors, and is sold individually. This part can be used on multiple parts on the air compressor, so the exact location, and repair may differ. In general, it is used to clamp hoses. For this repair, begin by draining the air out of the tank to remove the pressure placed on the components.

Air leakage from hose
I followed the help from a YouTube video. It was for a slightly different model of P-C air compressor, but didn't really matter. This procedure is quite straightforward. Several screws are removed to access the pump-end of the rubber hose. Use The new hose was somewhat longer than the old one, but I didn't try to cut it down. Be sure to crimp the replacement clamps good and snug! Secure all screws and test the compressor. All good! Read more...

This is a single OEM drain valve for an air compressor. A drain valve is a small device that is usually located at the bottom of the compressor air receiver. The drain valve can be opened or closed, and this allows water to exit the tank. Water builds up if air is left in the tank for an extended period of time, and if left for too long, it can start to rust out the inside of the tank and the drain valve can become clogged with rust or start to corrode. You should be draining the tank each time you use your air compressor to stop this from happening. This is a very quick and simple repair. Use a wrench to remove the old drain valve, and thread the new one into place by hand.

This is a manufacturer-approved head gasket for an air compressor, sold individually. It is designed to seal the valve plate to the cylinder head. For this repair you will need the following tools: Philips screwdriver, torx drivers, flat-blade screwdriver, long-nosed pliers, impact driver or socket wrench, and a torque wrench.
