This brush is a genuine Porter-Cable replacement part, not generic. As pictured, this brush is ready to install and includes carbon brush, wire lead, and spring. This item is sold individually. Over time, brushes will wear down and eventually require replacement. This brush will fit the models listed in the 'Compatibility' section below. It is not guaranteed to fit any other power tool models. • Worn brushes are often the cause of a poorly running motor • Replacing brushes can fix an intermittent motor • New brushes can restore a motor’s electric braking Carbon motor brushes are one of the most commonly replaced power tool components. Because carbon brushes are wear items, meaning that through friction and use they will gradually wear away, they will eventually require replacement. Worn brushes are common causes of intermittent motor function, reduced electric braking, and reduced motor power. A worn out brush will often be worn down near the wire lead and may be cracked, pitted, or burned. When replacing carbon brushes, be sure to also inspect your armature for burns, cracks, or other damage which indicates a larger motor problem.

This is a single OEM drain valve for an air compressor. A drain valve is a small device that is usually located at the bottom of the compressor air receiver. The drain valve can be opened or closed, and this allows water to exit the tank. Water builds up if air is left in the tank for an extended period of time, and if left for too long, it can start to rust out the inside of the tank and the drain valve can become clogged with rust or start to corrode. You should be draining the tank each time you use your air compressor to stop this from happening. This is a very quick and simple repair. Use a wrench to remove the old drain valve, and thread the new one into place by hand.

This is a single OEM carbon brush. Two are needed to make a set, so if you require two, order accordingly. Carbon brushes are used to conduct electricity to the armature through its commutator. Brushes are a common wear part that will need to be replaced periodically due to consistent rubbing against the rotating commutator. Worn brushes can cause sparks around the commutator, which can also cause damage to the armature, which should also be inspected. If your electric motor is experiencing issues, the brushes should be one of the first things you check.

This authentic ball bearing is sold individually. It can be used in a variety of differently model types, such as miter saws, circular saws, table saws, and angle grinders. This ball bearing is sealed on both sides. Its job is to minimize friction between rotating parts. The armature rotates at a very fast rate, so after years of use, it is normal for the bearings to wear.

This is a valve plate for your compressor or generator. This part controls the air flow into the pump. When the air is pumped by the piston, it passes through the valve plate and into the compressor tank. The most common sign of a damaged valve is if your pressure is not building up in the tank. The reeds on the valve plate are usually the first thing to wear out. If you notice visible damage on the reeds you will need to replace this part. This valve includes the plate, and the lower gasket. The head gasket is sold individually.

Air leakage from hose
I followed the help from a YouTube video. It was for a slightly different model of P-C air compressor, but didn't really matter. This procedure is quite straightforward. Several screws are removed to access the pump-end of the rubber hose. Use The new hose was somewhat longer than the old one, but I didn't try to cut it down. Be sure to crimp the replacement clamps good and snug! Secure all screws and test the compressor. All good! Read more...

This part is a 120V rocker type OEM switch with two terminals, sold individually. It has a compact design, which makes the installation process much easier. The switch controls the on and off function as well as the variable speed. It usually becomes apparent that the switch is malfunctioning if the tool will not turn on, works intermittently, or the variable speed or electric braking are not working. Switch replacements are common on power tools, especially after years of use. If you suspect a faulty switch, test it with a multimeter. Installation and removal of this part may vary depending on the model. For most routers you will need to remove the motor cap from the motor, and then the wires from the switch to remove it.

This is a manufacturer-approved head gasket for an air compressor, sold individually. It is designed to seal the valve plate to the cylinder head. If this gasket is damaged or worn, this can create an air leak from the head, which will make it so the compressor is no longer pressurizing the tank. For this repair you will need the following tools: Philips screwdriver, torx drivers, flat-blade screwdriver, long-nosed pliers, impact driver or socket wrench, and a torque wrench.
