This is an authentic filter cartridge for an engine. Its purpose is to filter out dirt and debris from the air that flows through the machine and could be harmful to the engine. This part is commonly replaced due to wear and tear or from being clogged and restricting air flow. If dirt is able to reach the carburetor this can lead to bigger, more costly repairs, so it is wise to inspect the filter cartridge regularly and replace when needed (at least once a year). To access this part, you will need to remove the air filter cover. The new filter is then installed to the base by the rubber backing which fits over the posts and is pushed in with your hand to secure. A very quick and easy repair that will make a huge difference to the performance of your small engine.

To change the oil filter, start by draining the oil from the engine (in accordance with your manufacturer instructions). Next, remove the old filter and wipe up the filter adapter gasket surface. Apply a light coat of clean oil to the rubber gasket on the new oil filter. Install the replacement oil filter onto the filter adapter. Turn it clockwise until secure.

Insert both the same way old ones were positioned, paper part of filter pointing away from the side of mower, and foam with sponge side against paper part on filter.
