This is an authentic filter cartridge for an engine. Its purpose is to filter out dirt and debris from the air that flows through the machine and could be harmful to the engine. This part is commonly replaced due to wear and tear or from being clogged and restricting air flow. If dirt is able to reach the carburetor this can lead to bigger, more costly repairs, so it is wise to inspect the filter cartridge regularly and replace when needed (at least once a year). To access this part, you will need to remove the air filter cover. The new filter is then installed to the base by the rubber backing which fits over the posts and is pushed in with your hand to secure. A very quick and easy repair that will make a huge difference to the performance of your small engine.
