i removed the ice container and noticed that the rod looked a bit rounded. I used a small socket and removed the screws. I laid aside the plastic pieces and pulled out the rod. FYI: if you need the rod don't order the plastic sleeve that's on it. The rod comes with it already on it. I ordered it because the picture shows them separate and it don't say they come together.
