Burner would not shut off
The replacement switch was a different configuration. I had to read the numbers on the old switch and compare them to the new switch.Removed 5 wires from old switch and put on new switch one at a time I used the same screws from the old switch to install the new switch no problem.Just make sure you have a magnetic screwdriver or one with clips to hold the screws.I lost six screws under the stove top.

The switch wore out.
Removal the bottom cover . Take the old one off. Follow the each wire slot plug to new one. Very simple.

Would hang up and not cut back or turn off . Had to tap in the off position .
Raised the front of the cook top and blocked with a 12'' stick. took off the bottom small cover, removed the 2 screws on the switch from the top beside the stem (used a small magnet to catch and reinstall the screws)The terminals on the new switch were in a different position from the old , so keep the terminal # the same (L1-L2and H1-H 2) Slip on the knob so you can tell what position to install the switch, because it could be installed in 4 different positions ,then the dial would be off.Be sure to turn off the breaker. I opened up the old switch and could tell the contacts had been stuck together ,they looked burnt.
