Door would not close/latch.
Removed door from washer. With door on flat surface all the screws are easily removed to replace striker & door hinge/ bushings. Pay attention to bushings position when removing so as to replace them in the same position. Video shows a guy pulling the door gasket off to replace the door lock & switch assembly. Skip that & remove the top cover from the washer. Only two screws in the back hold it on & it's a lot easier to reach inside & pull the switch up than fighting with the door gasket. With the new door hinge, door closes easier & more solid than when brand new. Easy fix. Read more...

lift the top of the washer and remove three hoses connected to the water valve. Disconnect both sets of wires on the water valve and remove the two screws holding it in place. Insert new water valve, screw into place, replace wires and hoses. Most difficult part of the process was removing the top hose because the ends of the clamp holding it in place were extremely small. Very bad shaking in spin cycle
I did the trouble shooting Q & A and watched the videos, all of which are very good. It sounded like the shocks and or springs were the issue so I opened everything up to inspect them. The springs looked great and the shocks seemed good, or at least they were not broken. I did see stress cracks on the right one so I replaced both. This would have much easier if the machine were on a work bench but that was not an option. Working on the floor makes is very difficult to get to the right side but removing them did go very well. However installing to new ones was much more difficult to get the pins in because there is no room for a hammer to drive them in. I did lube them with Dawn and that helped a lot. I also used an open end wrench to compress the locking tab to get it started. If I thought I would never need to replace them again I would have put them in from the front side rather than the back. The back right has a cover box to protect the circuit board and there is NO room to work. But to make a long story short, this did not fix the problem so it is back to the drawing board. After I did a test run I noticed there was still water in the drum, nothing to see but I can hear it moving around. The clothes were totally wet. I did not notice this before so I am thinking there may be a water discharge issue and the wet clothes and water get out of balance. I the regular wash cycle the water seems to drain just fine but for some reason when it comes to the spin cycle it gets way out of balance. So I am back where I started. I must say the new shocks appear to be much better than the ones that came out, just wish they fixed the problem. Read more...

Once the washer filled, leaking around the spin bearing resulted
I followed the videos included with the parts on the site. Those videos were a life saver. It took a lot of liquid wrench and penetrating oil to free up some of the parts for removal, but the saving was well worth the effort. I spent extra time cleaning up the basket and tub as well as the trunnion. As it turned out the small rubber washer included with the metal washer had completely disintegrated but there was also a squealing noise indicating the spin bearing was in need of replacement. All in all it was difficult to remove the trunnion but everything else went well. Read more...
