The infinite burner switch is used to control the temperature of the burner element on your stove top. This model is for the larger, eight-inch element. If your burner is not heating up or has uneven temperatures, you should first check with a multimeter to see if the issue is with the element or with the infinite burner switch. If you need to replace the switch, first disconnect the power supply to your range. To change this part, you will need access to the back panel, so you will need to pull the appliance out from the wall. To complete the repair, you will need a pair of needle nose pliers, a number one square head screwdriver, and a Philips screwdriver. The specifications for this genuine OEM part are that the switch is 240-volt, 2100-2600 watt, and 8.8-10.8 amp.

If the large surface burner on your range will not heat up, you may need to replace the switch. This genuine OEM switch is used to control the temperature of the large 8-inch burner, along with turning it on and off. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your range before beginning this repair, as you will be working with electrical components. When replacing the switch, the electrical harness features slip-on terminals for easy installation and connections to the switch. You should examine the terminals for signs of arcing or corrosion. If these signs are present, the terminals will need to be replaced as well. The shaft for the burner knob may be longer than the switch you just removed, but you will be able to remove the excess length by using a pair of pliers. If you also need to replace the knob used to turn the switch, it can be purchased separately.

If your burner element is not turning on or heating up, it is possible there is an issue with the switch. The surface burner switch, also known as an infinite heat switch, is what turns your burner elements on and off, along with adjusting the temperature settings. The switch is controlled by the knob on the panel, and this knob sits on the shaft for the switch. Please note that burner knobs are sold separately from the switch. Before beginning this repair, you will need to disconnect the power supply to your range, and move it away from the wall so you can access the back panel. A helpful tip to keep your wires straight, is as you remove one from the old switch, immediately attach it to the same terminal on the new switch. If the connection is snug, a pair of needle nose pliers will help. This OEM replacement switch is designed to work with your 8-inch burner elements.

This infinite switch for eight inch range burners is almost three inches long. This infinite switch is for 8-inch range burners. When an element is unable to produce any heat on a modern oven, the problem may lie with the infinite switch. This switch is responsible for sending power to the surface elements. Check the element and terminal block to ensure they are working properly. If they are in working order, check the infinite switch at the control panel for any wires that have overheated, or broken terminals to or from the infinite switch. If the infinite switch is damaged or malfunctioning, it will need to be replaced. Remember to unplug your range before beginning this repair.
