To access the exterior lightbulb, the bottom panel of the microwave will need to be removed. It is secured in place with screws, so will require a Philips screwdriver to remove it. Screw the new light bulb directly into the light socket. If this is the first time you have replaced this light bulb, the old light bulb might be held in place with silicone. This silicone will need to be cut off using either a utility knife or dental floss before removing the light bulb. Once this silicone and old bulb has been removed, the replacement bulb can be screwed in its place.

The glass panel on the door of your range allows you to see your food as it is being cooked in the oven. If it has become damaged, broken, or so grimy that it is beyond cleaning, it should be replaced. This is a genuine OEM heat resistant panel that measures approximately 10 inches by 20 inches. It is the innermost glass panel on the door and is sold individually. When replacing this panel, please be sure to wear proper protection such as gloves in case any glass breaks. Always be sure to disconnect the power supply to your range and ensure that it is cool to the touch before starting the repair.

This is a single grease filter for a microwave. Most microwaves have two filters, the other one being the charcoal filter, which is a different filter, sold separately, and has different maintenance instructions. The grease filter prevents grease from making its way into the ventilating hood. If you notice grease has started to accumulate in this area, the grease filter should either be cleaned or replaced. When cleaning the grease filter, be sure to use mild soap and water as harmful chemicals can cause damage, and this should be repeated monthly. This filter is located on the underside of the microwave. To remove it, slide the filter away from the tab area and drop out the filter. To install your new filter, place the end of the filter into the opening opposite to the tab area, lift the other end, and slide it into the tab area until it is secure.

This is an authentic OEM door switch for your microwave. This switch is located behind the front panel, and works by making contact with the door hook, sending a signal that the door is closed and the microwave can now operate. If your microwave will not run when the door is closed, or the turn table continues to spin when the door is open, there is likely an issue with your door switches. You can use a multimeter to test which switch is faulty. Before beginning this repair, please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your microwave.

Circuit breaker and internal fuse blew upon opening door
Un-mount from cabinets. Remove top & side cabinet (single piece). Internal fuse is immediately accessible in High Voltage compartment (top). Interlock switches are mounted to a single assembly at the door latch. A single screw removes the entire assembly. I found it very difficult to remove the old switches from the interlock latch without breaking tabs on the latch, so, I purchased both switches AND a new interlock. Take pictures of the wire connections to the original installation before removing wires for reference when you re-install. Note that the failure of the fuse and circuit breaker worked in this situation as the fuse popped as I opened the microwave door. The microwave was NOT operating nor was the fan at the moment the fuse popped. A fuse which pops while the microwave is cooking is LIKELY NOT the interlock switches! Read more...

The bake element is located in the bottom of the oven and is used to heat the oven for cooking and baking. If the element is not heating up, providing little or inconsistent heat, or is getting too hot, the bake element may need to be replaced. The element can be tested with a multimeter to determine if it is defective. If it needs to be replaced, this is a genuine OEM bake element with push-on terminals. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your range before you begin this repair.

Baking Element Arching
First I don't know why all the other directions omitted the most important step. REMOVE POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER BOX. Unless you want to risk 240 volts surging through your body I would strongly suggest this step not to be skipped. Leave breakers off to avoid accidental oven use by forgetful wife. Second, with power removed and oven allowed to cool, pull oven trays out. At the bottom of the oven there are two screws attaching the element to the the back of the oven. Using a #2 Philips Head screwdriver remove the two screws. Gently pull the element out. The element is attached to two push-on wires. Gently pull the connectors off element. Remove element. Re-install two screws in attachment holes to not lose screws. Wait for about a week to receive part. Once part arrives removed saved screws. Reinstall the push on connectors of the power wires onto the element. Feed the wires gently back into the back of the oven. Align screw holes of the element attach plate and re-attach the two screws. Close oven door. Reset circuit breakers at the panel. Reset time on oven. Call wife to brag on how you saved her thousands of dollars on a new oven. This took more time to write than the job itself. But really remember to shut off the power. Read more...
