M Series Ignition Coil Kit

This coil ignition kit is used in dryers to open the gas valve when the dryer is on. This kit includes two coils. One is a two-wire secondary coil and the other is a three-wire booster coil. If your dryer does not heat or you notice heating inconsistencies, then the gas valve may be damaged and it is best to replace it to solve this problem. To repair, first release the two retaining clips that hold the top panel in place, then remove two screws that retain the front panel of the dryer cabinet. Next, pull the front panel forward and remember to disconnect the door switch. After accessing the gas coils, start removing the wires and unscrew the bracket that holds the coils. Remember to remove both the dual and main coil without removing the spacer. For more information on the kit and repair instructions, refer to diagram for a list of the parts.

Not heating, Not Drying
I opened the dryer with instructions from Youtube, and look for the parts that I thought had the problem: Flame sensor and Ignition Coil Kit. Put dryer back together and turned on, it works like a champ, :-) I requested a repairman from Sears and he told me to just buy a new one, because the part needed cost $459.00, but for some reason it made no sense to me, so I went to this site and put the model number of my dryer and the problem, and they suggested that I replace the flame sensor. If your dryer has little to no heat, there may be an issue with your heating element assembly. The heater element is a genuine OEM part that is found at the back of the dryer. The heating element comes with a felt strip and insulators already attached. This part is used to provide heat in order to dry your laundry. It does this when the coil of nickel and chrome alloy wires resist the controlled electric current, and as a result the wires get hot. If you need to replace the heating element, please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your dryer before beginning this repair.

This door catch is an authentic OEM replacement part for your dryer. This part holds the door strike and ensures that the door stays closed while your dryer is running. This prevents hot air or laundry from escaping from the dryer. If your dryer will not start or the door will not stay closed, you may need to replace the door catch. Please be sure to disconnect the power supply to your dryer before beginning this repair.

This ball-and-socket style bearing kit is used in your dryer to support the rear of the drum as it tumbles through the dry cycle. The bearing attaches on the inside of the rear panel of the dryer cabinet. Over time, the bearing or the bushing can wear out, and the ball support can become damaged. If these things happen, your dryer may not tumble, or it will be noisy while operating. If this is the case, you may need to replace these parts. This genuine OEM parts kit includes one bearing, one ball shaft, one ball bearing, one ball bearing retainer, a small tube of high-temperature lubricant, and the installation screws. Completing this repair requires taking the entire drum out of your dryer along with handling greasy parts, so have a rag handy for cleanup. Please ensure that you disconnect the power supply to your appliance before beginning this repair.

This thermal fuse limiter is used in dryers to monitor the temperature and make sure it does not overheat. The thermal fuse has a limit of 220 degrees Fahrenheit before the heating element and power are cut off. If your thermal fuse has blown or is damaged then your dryer will not start, can over heat, or take too long to dry. It is important to replace the fuse to solve the above problems. For this repair, you will need a Philips screwdriver, putty knife, and a needle nose plier. As a safety precaution, remember to unplug dryer from power source to avoid electrocution when installing this part. Refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for further instructions.

Dryer section not heating
Upon evaluation of the washer/dryer comb unit, noted in the dryer cycle not heating. Dryer section requires a number of panel to be removed (top, front above washer lid, back belt access panel & one interior control panel). Additionally, the dryer front door assembly, the main control assembly, dryer plastic vent assembly & main drum belt needs to be removed. Once these items are out, procedure to access the heater assembly requires the main drum to be removed. Caution: this will require an additional hand to maneuver drum out. Once drum is out, the heater assembly is accessible. Unplug all wiring, replace heater assembly. Recommend to also change back nylon main drum bearing. Reverse procedure to re-assemble. Dryer was restored back to operation. Read more...

The two-terminal high limit thermostat has a limit of 260 degrees Fahrenheit and acts as a safety mechanism that keeps the dryer from overheating. The thermostat will cut out when the internal dryer temperature reaches 260 and then cuts back in when the temperature drops by 70 degrees Fahrenheit. If your dryer is not heating, you may need to replace the thermostat. This is a genuine OEM part. Please remember to disconnect the power to the dryer before starting your repair.
