Needed to replace a faulty burner switch
Removed the old switch by unplugging the electric connectors to the switch, removed the palnut, and took the old switch out. Placed the new switch in, reconnected the electric connectors. Mounted the new bracket, trimmed the shaft to fit, tightened the new palnut, selected the new dial adapter that was suitable, put the old dial back on, and it was done! Very easy. Anyone can do it.

Bad plug in socket. I purchased a new heating element and infinite control switch but will use as a backup as it was not necessary.
Turned off power at the curcuit breaker. Verified power off. Lifted cooktop out of countertop opening. Removed 10 screws holding the cooktop to the pan. Disconnected the wire at the infinite control switch. Remove small phillips screw holding the surface plug in block to the burner opening. Spliced the connectors to the new plug in block. Twisted the wires together and applied wire nut included in the kit. Placed shrink wrap sleeve over wire nut and heated with hair dryer to shrink the sleeve. Reversed the disassembly . Turn power back on and tested good.
