Extreme imbalance
This washer would not go into spin cycle without going out of balance no matter how we arranged the contents in the drum. We were looking to buy a front loader when I happened open this company with video instructions and positive comments from other people with the same issue. For the cost it was worth a try. Following the video and in less than one hour the washer was back in service. It now operates like the day we installed it new. Highly recommend this fix which should save you hundreds on a new washer.

The top part of the agitator was not turning; the cams had disintegrated
I did the repair as specified in the excellent video supplied with the confirmation of my order. It would not have take more than 15 minutes if I had ignored the 13 years of built up scum on all the parts as I disassembled the agitator. Cleaning everything before reassembling took most of the time. It made no sense to me to have the agitator apart without cleaning everything. It works fine now and looks shiny clean.

No movement in upper agitator.
Replaced upper agitator cam kit assembly, very easy to replace and in about 15 minutes. I would also like to mention about PartSelect's web sit is very easy to find your parts and at good prices they even have video's if you need a little explanation on how to install your part.

Top agitator wasn't turning
1. Removed softner dispenser.
2. Remover plastic cover that protects agitator bolt.
3. Used 3/8 inch drive with 6 inch extension and
7/16 socket to remove agitator bolt.
4. Removed whole agitator assembly.
5. Removed top agitator from bottom agitator. NOTE: This required alot of force due to age of machine.
6. Removed cam assembly.
7. Installed new cam assembly.
8. Reversed steps to re-assemble.
Note: Before I installed the plastic cover for agitator bolt, I cleaned the O-ring and mating surface to ensure a good seal.
Very easy job ....washer works as designed.

Washer would go into the cycle to rinse dry.
Replacing the part was fairly easy. However it did not resolve the problem. The spin cycle did not activate, leaving my washer full of water. We ordered another Maytag Washer. Hopefully this one doesn't break down for a long time.

original agitator "gears" were worn making the rotation / agitation work poorly
When the parts arrived it was relatively easy to remove the entire agitator system with one socket through the top of the molded plastic. The new parts were exact fit (even exact color) so repair was fairly easy.
Once the bolt is removed allowing removal of the entire agitator, the remaining parts come apart without tools. The only problem is if the new part comes apart. The "gears" can be put in backwards not allowing for the proper agitation.
