Washer hoses due for replacement
Replaced each hose. Did discover that either hose can be used for hot or cold water lines. No longer required to label hot and cold replacement hoses.

My washer was always off balance.
I used a jack to lift the tub and unhooked the rods and replaced them. Works great.

Washer would go from sense to done without running cycles. Sometimes the drum would make a quarter turn.
I followed the video published on this site

Washer was making an awful screeching noise when agitating
I turned off and disconnected the water lines (have a bucket ready) and tipped the washer on its back. I followed along with the provided video that was super helpful. Disconnecting, moving the washer, and reconnecting everything took longer than the repair. Very satisfied with this repair!

Loud banging during spinning
Followed video provided by Part Select. Video made it look easier than it was but was very thorough and I was able to accomplish repair in less than an hour! The agitator before repair would bounce up and down when I pressed hard and let go. After repair it was much tighter!! Evidently this is a common problem with this design of Whirlpool washers!

machine wobbled violently
followed video instruction that came with part. Previously watched youtube video (there are several, the low production videos are well worth viewing over the professional types). It was a breeze, other than the videos saying one person could do all four. When you get to the last rod, it is more difficult to lift the tub to insert the final rod in the round holder. I asked my wife for assistance.

top of agitator wouldn't move to pull clothes down
Removed softener dispenser, removed part under that to reveal bolt that holds agitator on to washer. Figured out there was more to the problem than just the dog ear things and had to end up getting a whole new agitator. Probably saved us $60 minimum in labor and trip charge and was a piece of cake! Took my husband less than 15 mins. to remove old agitator and put on new one. Geez, I guess I have to do laundry again!

Rinse cycle kept repeating, did not spin clothes
Spin indicator light was illuminated but machine was repeating rinse cycle rather than spinning water out of clothes. Replaced the pulley and drive coupler, thinking there was a mechanical problem. Video instructions were great but old pulley and drive coupler looked perfect so replacing them did nothing. Next I replaced the washer actuator (shifter), thinking that was the reason for no high speed spin. Easy job, as shown in the video, but it also did nothing. The problem turned out to be a failure in the control panel, probably resulting from years of vibration. Decided to stop chasing my tail and bought a new washer.

Top portion of agitator stopped agitating
I removed the fabric softener dispenser atop the agitator. I twisted and pulled out the plug inside the agitator. Using a socket on an extended wrench, I removed the single nut inside the agitator (keep the agitator from turning with a large screwdriver, etc. and turn the nut counter-clockwise to remove). The agitator came out, and I removed all of the cam parts. I cleaned all of the old parts with bleach and water. Reinstalling the new parts was simple and straightforward as indicated in the illustrated instructions. Now it works great!
