MAT10PDEGW Maytag Washer - Instructions

Once i figured out it would not drain i pulled the front panel off and pulled all the drain hoses off to be sure nothing was clogged there or in the pump itself. It was not so then i checked the drive belt and it was ok. Next i pulled off the drain pump and everything looked to be ok, it was not froze up and it would spin just fine. I got a screwdriver and held the splines inside the pump while trying to turn the pulley and thats when i found that the propeller was spinning on the shaft and under a load would only spin the shaft and not the propeller inside the pump. Got online ordered new pump and it works great now.

First I took out the back plate of the control panel on the top of the washer. There were 3 Philips head screws on the top and 2 either 1/4 inch or 5/16 screws on the bottom. once the back panel was open it was all a matter a finding the screw that held the lower fill injector in place and unscrewing it since the tab on the other side had already broken off. When replacing the new lower fill injector I suggest moving the wash basin as far back as possible to get enough working space under the control panel. the tab on the right side might be a little tight going in but as long as you can get it so that the screw will fit on the other side it will hold.

Emptied washing machine tub with a small plastic bowl into a 5 gallon bucket, finihsing up last bit of water by soaking it up with towels. I next removed front panel on washing machine by unscrewing two screws on the bottom front, left and right, to gain access to the pump. Loosened two hose clamps and detached two hoses, catching remining water from washertub. moved washer out from wall about 3 feet and tilted washer back towards wall so I could access the inderneath of washer to lossen three bolts that held pump in place. removed belt from pum to motor and examined fro glaze or wear (none detected) and then removed pum and reversed steps to install new pump, reinstalling belt faily loosly, per instructions. Tried washer to see if ssue resolved and once confirmed, replaced the front panel. Have done multiple washes since then (at least 10) and no further issues. Very economical solution (under $100) and sense of pride with fixing applianmce myself. This web page was very informative and saved me a lot of money and time. Thanks!

I took the front off by removing the two Phillips head screws at the bottom. I leaned the washer backwards and blocked the front up about 6 - 8 inches. Next I loosened the three screws that hold the pump on. Then remove the belt. Now it is time to get the hoses off by taking the clamps loose. Wiggle the hose and pull them off. You need a small bowel and towels to collect the water in the hoses. The final step is to take out the three screws that you already loosened that hold the pump on. The pump can now be lifted up and removed. Replace the pump with the new one and reverse the procedure.

I did an internet search for a leaking washer and came across this web site.I looked under my washer model and it showed the repair parts plus it has a video of a repairman doing the job.The video was none the less the best help I could ever imagine.Tools needed and how to do the job a step at a time.The parts came to my door in two days via regular shipping method.I also purchased the special SPANNER WRENCH on eBay for about 10 bucks and it showed up the same day as my parts.The job took me about a hour and now my washer works like it should with no leaks.Thanks to Parts Select I highly recommend this site and their my new lifesaver. The video was very usefull> however could not find the (specialty tool) as seen on You tube the nut was so corroded that it would not of helped anyway. Used punch and hammer.Make sure you back out the locking set screw all the way out other wise it may strip threads. Overall the repair went well. But only lasted 2 weeks and started to leak again. May be due to worn bearing? Not sure Getting new washer instead of repairing this one. I would also order the bearing too if the washer has been leaking for any legth of time,Good luck.

searched on line for the part.you guys had a very informative video looked how simple it was i purchased the part i needed and the rest was history thanks you guys are great saved me around 140.00 bucks. for about 15 minutes worth of work

I am not going to describe the repair. The video that Part Select has on their website is exactly how our repair went. Very simple. This is the second time we have used Part Select. They have saved us a lot of money on repairmen or new purchases. I would definitely use them in the future. The videos are so easy to follow anybody can make the repairs. Also, the delivery company not only misdelivered the part but, they damaged it. When I called Part Select about the part being damaged, they immediately sent out a new part without any questions. Why aren't all companies this awesome?!

Purchased x4 new adjustable legs. Leaned the washer back and held in place with block of wood. Loosened the two older front legs with an adjustable wrench because they had a locking nut and replaced with new legs. Repeated process on back side of washer. Once all the new legs were installed leveled the machine adjusting the legs if necessary.

I wached the six min. Video you sent me,so helpful what a great idea so the job only took me about five min. Thanks Mike

I watched a utube video showing how to do the job. It was simple considering I am not mechanically gifted. The whole job took about 20 minutes. The hardest part of the job was moving the dryer out of the way first.

Got ipad and follow direccions on utube.

unplug machine, Remove front cover. Lift the top up and back. Take off the plastic spin basket top. Remove the aggitator. Remove the mounting stem nut, set screw, and remove the spin basket. Remove the mounting stem. Unbolt the three tub support brackets. take off the bleach dispenser hose, the pump hose, and the water level sensor. lift out the tub. push out the old seal and bearing. Clean everything and install the new seal. Reinstall the tub including the mounting stem seal. replace the spin basket. replace the plastic top. Hook up all the hoses. Replace the top. Cycle the machine and check for leaks before replacing the front cover.
