My wife help take the door off. It was a little heavy . The door came apart very easy and went back the same way.We save over $300 by doing it our selfs.

Removing the oven door and several layers of metal to get to the seal, is a fairly easy process. Our door had three different fasteners, torx head screws to remove the door, a very small flat head screwdriver to remove the chrome door trim screws, and a nut driver to remove the inner panels and glass. The replacement seal is over-large and must be trimmed. Care should be taken when fitting the integrated wire. Bending at the corners only, makes assembly much easier. Reassembly is the reverse of diassembly. Care must be taken that the seal wire hasn't popped out of it's seat when the cover is installed. This is the most time-consuming and frustrating part of the repair. Patience is paramount to get a good fit. Because I had made an odd bend in it, about one inch of wire was not properly seated after the cover was seated and tightened down. I was able to gently squeeze it into the seat with a flat tip screwdriver without removing any screws. The final problem area is reinstalling the door. Although two people would be helpful to accomplish this Task, I was able to accomplish it with the aid of a three foot piece of 2x4. By wedging the piece of lumber behind both hinges, they were held open under tension to allow slipping the door on. Once partially installed, the 2x4 can be removed and the door seated. It would have been a very easy job if the one wire had not fallen inot the back. I could not reach it and fried to figure out how to get in the back to no avail. Finally I took a piece of wire coat hangerm and bent it and then fished it out. The packing around the hole compressed while I was trying to get the wire and I thought I wpuld have to replace it, but overnight it resumed its original size. It should have probably taken less than thirty minutes.

Removed the original element with a screwdriver and disconnected the 2 wires, it took about 2 minutes. Got online with PartSelect and easily matched a replacement part. Ordered the part and received it within a couple of days. Very impressed with the ease and quickness of the order processing and shipping. Took the new element and connected the wires, screwed the 2 screws back in, it took about 2 minutes. Turned on the oven to check and everything worked perfectly. First, I tripped the oven circuit breaker. Then I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. Then I pulled the element out about 5 inches and disconnected the two wires. At first, I had to figure out how the wires would disconnect. Once I removed the heating element, I reversed the procedure, tightened the screws, reset the circuit breaker, and set the oven to bake. The element began to function, and I knew Imy efforts were successful.

pulled off the old and pushed on the new. the entire experience was great. would use again in a heart beat!

The door came off easily after I removed the two hinge covers that are attached to the oven. Taking the door off can be done with one person but ideally two.

The new parts fit in perfectly and the hinge pin used for shipping comes out easiest with a pair or wire cutters (you do not cut it just grab it and pull).

After that, re-assemble the door and drop in place. It was a snap.

FYI...the shipping was ultra fast and the price was great.

No issues whatsover with the entire process.

The hardest part was taking out original light bulb because screws on shield where hard to unscrew after all this years . The old bulb vent out leaving neck in socket. It took narrow electrical pliers to get neck out .The generic appliance bulb did not fit and had aluminum neck ,not recommended for brass sockets in ovens.Putting new light bulb in was not the problem.

It was worth the money for that little screw, since I didn't have to run all over trying to find the right one.

First I removed 7 screws, using a Philips head screwdriver, to allow access to the inside of the oven door. I then removed several more screws to separate the panel holding the seal so that I could remove it and replace it with the new seal. Once the seal was in place I re-inserted all the screws to the panel and door to complete the repair. The knobs just slipped on to replace the ones that broke and fell off.
