GALLITO General Electric Refrigerator - Instructions

I just followed the directions carefully, loosened the screws with a nutdriver removed the unit from the screws, unplugged the unit from the freezer plug, took out the new unit, used the adapter supplied with the unit to match up with the plug in the freezer, carefully attached the icemaking unit to the screws, carefully slid the cord behind the unit, lightly clinched down the screws, checked it with a level and then did the final snug down. turned the unit on and it worked fine. Pretty easy, just take your time, don't rush and it will come out fine.

After what I thought was a thorough troubleshooting of said problem I replaced the Water Valve Assy which was really easy as the video shared, but it did not fix my problem. I had forgotten to pull the water line apart at the coupling below the doors (this was a troubleshooting step in another area). The water not dispensing was due to the line being frozen! Putting all items in a cooler with a couple blocks of ice and leaving the freezer door open for the length of watching a movie, the water was flowing again. Still no ice though. Ice maker vs mother board at the rear of the fridge, Hmmmm. Went with the ice maker, watched video, ole Steve makes the plugs disconnecting look easy, I had to use a flat head screwdriver to open the clips (he doesn't mention that) and I had 4 screws where he had 3. Also he didn't mention about the instructions which gives you 3 options with your unit. I had to re-use my Plastic Stripper Plate along with the Fill Cup and Ice Maker Insert. After completion of installation and about a half hour later, I heard ice fall, Wooohoooo!!! Overall the experience will make me think to utilize PartSelect again when needed. Reasonable prices and decent shipping time. Now the freezer light is out...

Instructions that came with the part were useless. I would have created new problems if I had attempted to follow the instructions. However, once I had the old part removed and put it beside the new part, required repair process was obvious, easy and quick. Frig now makes ice better than it ever did.

Went well. Changed the Ice Maker and then the Water Valve. All good and it is making ice.

Quite easy. Turn off water supply and turn off ice maker at switch inside freezer. Unscrew the old unit, separate the electrical connection, and pull it out. New unit comes with parts that do not fit my refrigerator, so visually examine the new and old units, reuse any needed parts from the old unit, such as plastic water ramp. Reconnect the electrical connector, and screw it back in. Turn water supply back on and then turn ice maker back on at switch inside freezer. Discard unused parts. Wait up to 24 hours for new ice cubes to be made.

Literally took out one screw and a wiring harness. Removed the old plastic piece off of the old ice maker and put on the new one.Installed new ice maker with the one screw and plugged the wiring back in.DONE!

I am more than 80 yrs, always thought I could fix just about everything--but, this looked complicated. Once I received the new icemaker; took a good look where the screw-holes, etc. were, then removed the "old" one. Took about 20 or 30 minutes, then the "new" one was easily installed.

Wathched the video and it was done in less than 15 min making ice again no problem

Followed the instructions. Smooth as silk. This part is better than the original. There appears to be a sensor that beeps when the ice reservoir is full.

I had to defrost the freezer to free the icemaker. After that the installation was plug and play with two small exceptions: 1) I had to file down the width of the left hand tine of the old stripper so that it would fit the new icemaker, and 2) the motor housing of the new icemaker was slightly wider than the old one. It fit, but just barely. But I'm back in the ice again, no dripping water, all is good.

Installing the actual ice maker was quite easy. What takes most of the time is preparing the freezer for the install. Need to remove all shelving, (and the door) to gain access to the unit. The ice maker is simple to install once access is achieved. Putting everything back together takes some time.

I watched the video and then read the instructions. Emptied and cleaned freezer compartment. Removed old unit and removed part of old unit to be used in new installation. I then installed the new unit and turned the water back on. I let the unit produce over night and through the first batch of ice away. Because of the various regrigerators this ice maker was used I had a little confusion recognizing our model, but worked through this problem useing some common sense. All around I'm very satisfied with the results.

I had replaced the sensors, thermostat and evaporater heater without correcting the problem. Decided to try the control board. The main problem has been the ice in icemaker melting every couple of days and thawing all over the freezer food. The top part of the freezer compartment thawed with less thawing in the lower section. Removed back metal cover. Unplugged fridge, took picture of control board to remember locations of connections. Never needed it though as I took caution to remember the different connections. Unplugged all of the connections and then took needle nose pliers to depress the 4 pins holding the control board in place one at a time. This was a bit difficult and you will need to exercise patience. Not my long suit. Eventually I depressed the pins correctly and got the old control board to slide out. Replaced with new control board and re-connected all the wire harnesses. They actually slide on pretty easily if you have them in the correct position. I also had taken all the food out of the freezer and removed the cover to the evaporator which was iced up. Took a hair dryer and thawed all the ice before re-starting the fridge to give it a nice clean start. Replaced the back panel and plugged in the fridge. 4 days now and it is running great so far. A lot quieter than before.

Super easy, had my 15 year old do it (with my supervision).
Followed very clear Instructions that come with the replacement...
But, he could not get to the plug location until he removed 4 screws holding the motor assembly that spins the ice in the drawer and moved it out of the way...
Followed the rest of the instructions...
Works like a charm.

looked up how on you tube and didn't find it just for the part but keep looking and saw how to replace other part that was behind touch pad so was easy from there on :)
