removed old valve & installed new.wire connectors were a little different so i had to replace one set with smaller ones.turned unit on and also found leak in resevoir bottle.waiting for that part now

Watched the video. Extremely helpful. Replaced valve and now the water dispenser shuts off, like brand new. The valve must have had some calcification and would not completely close.

I am so amazed at how easy the problem was fixed! I researched the issue, ordered the part, and after watching the youtube video of the part replacement, I was able to fix our water dispencer/ice maker! Saved us purchasing a new refrigerator...Thank you so much!!! Now I am going to fix the dryer.

Watched the video on how to repair this problem. Folowed the simple instructions and it worked. The double outlet water valve worked as it should. When I tested the water dispencer nothing came out of the spiggot on the door but water poured out all over the floor because the 5/16" water line from the replacement valve to the front of the refrigerator was brittle and cracked. I've ordered the part. Moral of the story - if your are replacing this double outlet valve, buy the water line and the union for the dispencer. You'll save yourself time, postage and effort. From the looks of it sooner or later the water line gets "cooked" and breaks/cracks.

The repair is easy enough, only problem I had was that I ordered the wrong part initially. Unfortunately, on the parts schematic there are two different parts listed and I didn't realize it. I did not look at my water valve prior to ordering, and naturally ordered the wrong one. One good thing, with the wrong part, there is a video showing the repair which I had watched. When I got the right part, the repair was basically the same as the video.

This is a cabinet depth fridge which fits snugly into its space in the kitchen. The worst part of any repair is pulling it out into the center of the kitchen and pushing it back in. After that we took off the back cover and the part is at the lower left rear corner of the unit. It was obviously spewing water. We shut off the water to the unit and ordered a new part. When the part came, we pulled the unit back out and disconnected it. The most difficult part was that one of the connections required a half inch open-end wrench to loosen/tighten. The other connections were the pull push quick connect type. The actual repair was very easy. There are other repairs associated with the leak that will not be easy. Damaged wood floor.

First I turned the water supply off to the fridge.Next, I let a little water out from the supply line & into a container in order to rule out a faulty line or valve. Since I was able to get water from that, I figured I had three possibilities left to work on. I already intended on replacing the water filter so other than replacing the entire icemaker I would order the water valve. I ended up spending approximately around $60 for both items but could have saved more $ if I had bought the water filter from you guys. I was familiar due to past experiences involving the water valve but I did read some of the experiences that was printed online and thought that was a plus and because of your self help guidance it enables an average Joe to repair an appliance without being sent to the poor house. I first looked at the youtube video on how to replace the part. Then I just followed the step by step instructions

Watched the video that was already on line and did the job in less trhan 15 minutes. Ice maker now making ice and there is no leak in the door.

Only one problem. After installation I had air pocket in the line, no water. Took out filter and installed plug that came with the unit. System worked so I then put the filter back in.Works Great!!! Saved big money

Identified very small stream of water shooting out of center of blue plastic housing where the icemaker/water dispenser hose connects to external water source. A flashlight up close made it possible to see the water stream, after removing the steel cover from the lower back of the refrigerator. You remove the black and white hoses by PRESSING in on the white plastic rings. I unplugged power before removing/reconnecting the 2 electrical connections with needle nose pliers. Replacing this thing stopped the leak, but I also had to change the circuit board to solve the icemaker water dispenser issues. I also replaced the vampire tap on the house supply line with a shut off valve so I could do this repair without shutting off the house water supply. I did have to shut it down to install the valve, but now I can shut off the refrigerator water supply when needed to replace the filter.

Part came very fast using standard delivery. easy to repair.

Water line to outlet water dispenser was frozen half way up the inside of freezer door. I scotch taped a bunch of plastic grocery bags on the interior left water dispenser door.I closed door with bags attached to inside door. I waited fifteen minutes and water was flowing again! First take off plastic coupler at bottom of front of refrigerator. Push plasic cup dispenser back, if water comes out of plastic tube at bottom front of refrigerator, then water valves are ok (if making ice is ok too). if light comes on at dispenser switch is ok also.
