GLVC25V7FW2 Frigidaire Refrigerator - Instructions

Remove the food items from the shelves on the door, Phillips screwdriver to take the top cap off. Adjustable wrench to take the two screws off the top hinge. Lift out the door and set aside. Remove two bolts from the lower hinge, reinstall with the new hinge and spacer. Reinstall door on lower hinge. Lift into place to reattach the upper hinge. Put the food back in and you're done.

Removed ice bucket from freezer. Remove ice. Remove 2 phillips head screws from the inside front of ice bucket, and 2 fromt the bottom front to remove the front cover. Remove the E clip and washer from ice crusher shaft. Remove 4, 1/4” head screws from ice crusher housing. Unclip the selector shaft from crusher door paying attention to position.Slide housing off of shaft and discard. Install new housing over shaft and install the 4 screws. Install selector shaft into door. Install the E clip and washer onto shaft. Install front housing with the 4 screws previously removed. Refill bucket with ice and install bucket back into freezing taking care to orient the ice screw shaft into the cog in the back of the freezer as well as the door selection shaft. Test operation.

I followed the instructions, my ONLY issue was about the Part 46 the Ice Dispenser Actuator Rod. The front of the arm has flared out grooves and it didn't warn me about making sure the rod is properly aligned thru part 23 Front Plate or else when the ice maker actuates the rod it will not move properly if the grooves are not aligned on each side of the Front panel. I hope you can understand what I mean, if not just look at how the Part 46 rests in Part 23

I TOOK A PICTURE OF THE LABEL INSIDE THE DIVICE SO I DID NOT NEED OT REMEMBER IT WHILE GOING TO MY COMPUTER TO LOOK UP THE PART. I FOUND PARTSELECT AND ORDERED THE PART. I GOT GOOD EMAIL COMUNICATION FROM PARTSELECT ABOUT THE ORDER AND EXPECTED DELIVERY. I DONOT REMEMBER IF THEY KEPT THEIR WORD BUT THE PART CAME IN SOON ENOUGH. WHEN IT ARIVED I GOT MY BOX KNIFE AND CUT THE BOX OPEN TOOK OUT THE DRAWER AND SLIDE IT INTO THE SPOT WERE THE BROKEN DRAWER WAS. I DID CLEAN THE SPACE WHERE THE OLD DRAWER WAS IT WAS EMBARRISING DIRTY. I WOULD RATHER NOT TALK ABOUT THAT BUT IF YOU LIKE I CAN SEND PICTURES. THE DOOR IS WORKING FINE JUST LIKE THE ORIGINAL ONE DID. PARTSELECT WAS A GREAT CHOICE IT WAS QUICK AND EASY. IF YOU DONT USE PARTSELECT YOU ARE GOING TO JUST MAKE YOUR REPAIR HARD ON YOURSELF.

Had to replace with a whole new part, had to take it all apart to replace

I followed the video and everything went smoothly. After pushing the pin in I pulled out the broken pin with needle nose pliers-very easy just like on the video. It took more time finding all the simple tools than the job itself-well almost!

watched the video, ordered the part and handed it to my husband. He quickly removed the hinge cover and took it apart--the lower door bearing was tightened with glue which made it difficult but once that was out of the way, it was remove, assemble and back in business. This was the last step of serial repairs to the ice crusher portion of the ice maker. I have practically replaced the entire assembly. All the blades were installed incorrectly (at factory? Afterwards?) and had bent. That caused problems for other parts. I hadn't noticed that the housing was weakened and my prior repair I did something dumb and the door on housing wasn't closing properly, so it snapped. I bought a new housing and installed it. My #1 tip is WATCH THE VIDEO! There are some things that have to be put together just so. You need things to line up and be under slight tension from springs. Last time I had it under too much tension. The door got in the way of the blades and broke. So this time I was more careful to do it correctly. Everything is working perfectly now. This design is clever, and I feel like I can diagnose and fix it again in future. "Steve's" instructional videos are a huge help. He shows exactly what to do.

I took out the broken drawer and replaced it with the new drawer

I ordered the replacement part, and when it arrived, I used a flat-blade screwdriver to remove the two glides from the old drawer and installed them on the new drawer by snapping them into place. Then I removed the sliding humidity control from the old drawer using gentle pressure, and installed it on the new drawer. Then I slipped the drawer into its place, loaded the vegetables into it, and was done in less than 5 minutes.

As it turns out when i pulled the drawer out and then the door holder i discovered that there was a big piece of material that was suppose to be around the water line that was causing the problem. The old drawer holder was not the problem so the new piece was not needed. All is well.

Ordered the shelves from partselect. Com and just replaced the new shelves in the space where the old shelves were.

Exposed and removed the screws at the top of the door. Removed and replaced the bearing and plate on the bottom of door and put it back together. Honestly, this is the easiest repair I ever made. The biggest chore was removing the contents of the door before taking the door off. Also was working alone, an extra pair of hands to hold the door would have been helpful but not necessary.
Be prepared to never hear that horrible clunk again!
