The door switch was broken so the interior light would not come on.
The instructions in the package were not helpful. They wanted me to cut the wiring harness and described where to cut based on the wire colors. My wires were not the same color! I removed the light mechanism using a combination of a screwdriver, putty knife, and plain old muscle with my fingers! The wiring harness unplugged easily and the new one inserted. It was easy to push the whole assembly back into the door. I spent more time looking for something to cut the wiring harness with (and never did find it) than the whole job actually took without needing to cut anything!

My actuator pad was not working consistently and my ice was not dispensing. I had ice forming inside the freezer door where the ice drops down, as well as from the ice maker itself.
I called and described my problem to a local refrigerator repairman and he told me what the problem sounded like. After ordering what I thought to be the correct parts, I just followed the video provided by PartSelect, which made it quite simple. I have purchased parts from this company in the past and made repairs which have saved me a considerable amount. This is a terrific company for us single women!

Ice dispenser door would not open
Repair was a breeze, just like in the provided directions. Removed the trim and wood panels, accessed the door, removed the panel, replaced the solenoid and put it all back together-piece of cake! Unfortunately, about 45 minutes after putting everything back together, water started shooting out of the dispenser and would not shut off. All of the controls became non-functional. I opened the freezer door and that made it quit shooting water. Had to remove the dispenser panel again and unplug the power to it. Have not had a chance to trouble shoot further. Did note the new solenoid seemed very warm to the touch. Did it possibly short something out?

Ice door was broken
I reviewed the instructions which were very clear and began. I removed the catch tray to access the two screws. I removed those and lifted the front off. I then removed the three screws holding the dispenser unit and gently pulled the unit out. I then disconnected the two electric connnections and removed the dispenser unit from the refrigerator. The ice door tab was broken, so I really just needed to replace the door, but since I received the other new parts in the kit, I went ahead and replaced those as well. The directions were very specific, just make sure that the spring is inserted correctly. I then reinstalled the unit. When I finished, I tried it but the door would not shut properly. I disassembled the unit again and found that the spring had come loose. Looking back , I probably knocked it loose when I was installing the water tube back into place. I reassembled, making sure that the spring was installed correctly, and everything worked fine.

Ice cubes jam in the ice dispenser shute
Remove (slide forward) the ice dispenser drain pad from the bottom of the ice dispenser assembly on front of the freezer door. Removing two screws (star head) at the bottom allows the ice dispenser cover to be removed. Remove 3 screws holding the ice dispenser assembly to the freezer door to gain access to the flapper. Remove and replace the flapper and reverse the steps to reassmble.

It was time to change the water filter.
All work was done by hand. I removed the cover plate, unscrewed the existing water filter and screwed in the new one. I returned the cover plate to its original position and bled the air out of the line by running the water dispenser for a few minutes. It could no have been easier.

Ice Maker couldn't drop ice through the door.
I pulled the drive ring off of the icemaker and replaced it with the new part. Saved a $150 service call plus cost of part. It cost me a little over $11.00 and a repairman probably would have charged $30.
