After replacing my water dispenser valve the ice maker didn't immediately begin making ice, so I thought I needed a new ice maker
After an overnight from the installation of the new water dispenser valve, my ice maker began making ice again. I had thought that I had made a wrong diagnosis and needed a new ice maker, so I ordered one. By the time my new ice maker arrived, I already had a bin half full of new ice cubes,

Ice maker stop making ice
I viewed the video on line and ordered the replacement kit. When I got the unit.. I checked out the unit and plugs.. shut off the water supply, unplug the refrigerator and just like the video... I removed three screws... replaced the shutoff bail and installed the new unit with the three screw. Very, very easy. Thanks.

Ice Maker not producing ice
Very easy to do it yourself. Part arrived in just a couple days. Removed a couple screws and unplug the old one. Plugged in new one and replaced screws. Done deal!! Additional parts came with new part which I did not need but are there for those that do. I am very pleased with the whole process.

Ice Maker was leaking.
I bought the replacement icemaker on-line. I watched the on-line video instructions. They were fantastic; much better than written instructions. The repair was a breeze, and I completed it in about 10 minutes. Had I called in a repairman, this would have cost me about $300+. I made the repair myself for a cost of $114. Thanks! I will definitely continue to get parts!

Ice maker leaking into bin
Needless to say, the ice dispenser was useless, just one big glacier of ice. I ordered the replacement ice maker and had it within two days. The instructions were perfect and the installation went without a hitch. Actually I was a bit disappointed, I had planned on spending an hour on the repair and was done in 15 minutes. I will definately use PartSelect again in the future!

Ice Maker stopped working.
Called home repair. They wanted $244 to respond and replace. That's 20% of the total cost of the refidgerator! I went on-line, found Part Select and called with the model number. The part arrived less than 24 hours later. I took out three screws with a nut driver, unplugged the old ice maker, plugged in the new one replaced the screws and the mext day, I had ice. Easy peasy, lemon sqeezy. Total cost. . . $121.

not turning or making ice
I removed 3 screws and unpluggeg wire plug. Did reverse to install. Took 5 min. Easy.

Ice Maker began leaking into ice bin. Hole in tray.
Removed one screw, disconnected wiring harness and then removed old ice maker. Connected wiring harness to new ice maker, set in tray holder and replaced the one screw. Total job took less than 5 minutes.

Icemaker stopped working
My icemaker stopped working. After a day of no ice, I ordered the replacement icemaker. It arrived two days later (fast -- I was expecting it in 3-5 days). That same day, the original icemaker popped out a few ice cubes. So I waited to see what was going to happen. Every few hours, it popped out a few more cubes. So I waited awhile longer. After two days of slow-motion icemaking, my good old icemaker went back to making tons of ice all the time. I guess it just needed a few days vacation -- just like the rest of us. I called to tell PartSelect, and they cheerfully told me how to return the part for a refund.

Hollow ice, grinding gears, general failure
This was a very simple repair - the directions could be a bit more clear regarding hooking up the harness (which fit perfectly without modification) - as the space is tight and it is not intuitively obvious how the old one unsnaps. Just undo the 3 screws (1 bottom, 2 top), unplug the electrical harness from the socket protruding from the back of the fridge (it is not built in and flush with the back of the fridge as might be expected). Reverse the process and thats that.

Icemaker Stopped Making Ice
Received replacement icemaker via ups. Opened box - three screws and disconnect cable. Old icemaker came out. New one - connected cable three screws and done.

Icemaker stopped making ice
I removed the bottom screw & loosened the 2 top screws so I could pull out old icemaker. I then ran into the only snag. The refrigerator is a side by side so there is virtually no room to access the ice maker, especially difficult to fully plug in the power cord for new icemaker. Other than that, very easy to repair. Waited a couple of hours & then the sweet sound of ice dropping in ice bin made it all worthwhile.
