broken handle
First I removed the screws from the inside of the door exposing the latch assembly. Removed the old part and installed the new assembly. Don't screw it on to the door untill the cover is on again.
First I ordered only the latch without the handle. Found after opening it up the handle was broken on the inside so had to order the assembly. It's a piece of cake to install. If you're having touble opening the door don't think because the handle looks ok from the outside it's not broken.. probably is. Partselect.com is the greatest company to deal with. I'd recommend them to anyone and have.

Broken Door Latch
Ensure to order part # PS1559543, which is the complete assembly although the diagram doesn't show this, and not PS2100626 which doesn't include the handle. The new assembly is a different style than the original therefore you should replace the complete assembly.

This was an easy fix. Remove the eleven torque screws on the door and separate the inner door panel enough to remove the old assembly. Remove the wire connections from the door switches, reconnect to the new assembly, and reinstall the assembly and inner door panel.

Dishwasher door stuck closed
After only 2 years, the Amana dishwasher door began to stick severely. If finally stuck so bad that I had to break the handle to get the door open. The replacement latch and handle fit perfectly and it only took a few minutes to get the screws off of the inner door panel to access the broken latch.

broken latch/handle assembly
After receiving the latch assembly, which arrived rather quickly, I found the handle itself was not enclosed in the package. Therefore this repair was delayed and after several calls to the 1-800 number I was informed the company had discontinued the distrubution of the handle. They offered a full refund, however I'm still waiting for the return labels so as to ship the latch back.

Now on the brighter side, the company representative put me in touch with a local distributor that did carry the latch/handle assembly as one piece and for a lot less money.

For those who are attempting the repair, don't worry, It was very simple. Just remove hex screws, lift the inside panel, unplug the two connectors and insert the new assemply.

Must say my wife was very happy to have the dishwasher up and running again.

Good luck !

Cracked door handle
First, shut off the circuit that the dishwasher is on. Remove the 10 - 12 screws that secures the inside waterproof panel to the door. There are two electrical connections are either side of the handle (latch assembly) that need to be removed. No need to disconnect any other connections or reservoirs. The handle comes right out. Seat the new one in door front opening. Reconnect the electrical leads and reseat the interior panel. I would put in the 2 screws are either side of the handle first; then the 2 at the bottom on either side and then the remaining. This is a very easy DIY job.

Door would not close - latch broken
1. Turned off power. 2. Unscrewed ten screws holding inside of door in place. 3. Lifted cover enough to access latch - helpful to have someone to hold this while doing the job. 4. Disconnected old latch assembly on each side - this was the hardest part as they were stiff and needed to be pulled hard. 5. Attached new latch assembly. 6. Screwed door panel back on. 7. Switched power back on. So easy and saved about $150. This stuff is NOT HARD and I just wish more people had the gumption to do repairs themselves instead of paying 'experts' to do exactly the same job.

Wash arm holes had worn, preventing proper rotation due to limited force of water jets
Took off the small plastic nut -- you can do it with your fingers. If it's too tight, use a pair of pliers.Lift off the old arm, put on the new arm. Very simple. Takes 2 minutes.

Door would not lock
I called for a Lowes where I purchased the dishwasher was told it was out of warranty, they set up for a repairman to come out and fix it. He came out and told me it would be $190.00 for parts and labor but that didn't include the service call of $60.00 dollars. Total bill would be $250.00, plus it would be another 2 weeks before he would be able to get back because he had to order the part but and get this I would get the part delivered to the house before the two weeks, and that he wouldn't guarantee the part for more then 90 days.
I told him no way, so I researched the internet and found this site part cost $25.00 dollars my time about 30 min. SAVINGS of $225.00.
The part was pretty easy to install had to take out a few screws around the edge. Only trouble I had was putting in the handle but I figure that out and put everything back together again.
I would purchase parts from this company again had it within 2 days, at a very reasonable cost.

The door latch broke
It was very simple and easy. I opened the panel inside the door; total of 8-10 screews. The latch has two electrical connections and switches. The replacement part I got came with an extra set of switches. Replacing the switches needed an electrical tool which I don't have so I decided to keep the old ones. It is quite easy to take out the switches and replace the latch. I should have taken out the power; but I did not. I was just careful handling the wires et al; no big deal either. My dishwasher is working fine now. I was able to fix it within $40 and 1 hour of effort. Any technician would have cost me atleast couple of hundred bucks + parts etc.

Dishwasher door would not lock on the dishwasher and water would spray on the floor when the dishwasher would cycle.
Took the door of the dishwasher apart and the replaced the lever assembly. The lever assembly does not come with a door handle, so you have to remove the old door handle from the old lever assembly and install the door handle on the new lever assembly. Installing the handle on the lever assembly was the hardest part, the rest of the installation was easy.

Unit would not turn on.
After checking the door switch I found the micro switches were working but the unit would not start on the control panel. Thinking the latch was worn, I ordered a replacement. After changing the replacement latch and switches that came with it, the unit would still not start. I checked the switch and it is making contact. I can start the unit after I close the door using the handle of a pair of pliers. So I assume the control board is bad, due to the fact that it will not initialize the control panel until the door is closed. Now I have ordered a control board and will replace...stay tuned!!
