broken silverware basket
the only thing that I wish was that the website had been more descriptive of the item. I ordered the two listed because it didn't say whether it was one side or both sides of a split basket. Now I have two complete baskets in different shades of grey! Only needed to order one maybe this will help someone else with the same problem. Great service and fast delivery though! Will order from this site again if I ever need anything else!

Didn't spray water.
Inside the Dishwasher on the bottom of unit, I removed the dish cart. The removed the sprayer arm with an adjustable wrench on the plastic nut on the center top. Then removed the top three screws with a Torx 20 screw driver and removed the plastic cover, then removed the single screw above the black plastic water pump piece and took it off. Then removed the six additional screws that were then displated after the previous cover was exposed. Finally I unscrewed the ivory colored plastic shaft which holds the food processor blade from the metal motor shaft with a adjustable wrench. Upon inspecting the ivory plastic shaft I noticed that the threads were stripped inside it. Which means it didn't turn when the motor would turn and wouldn't drive the water pump.

I ordered the replacements and noticed that the replacement for the plastic ivory colored shaft was a metal shaft. It had new pieces as the food processor blade had notiches in new places. The kid had all the replacement parts and a good set of instructions for what to replace and where it would go.

Then I assembled the washer as I had taken it apart. And it worked perfectly the first time. It has been repaired and working for a few weeks now without incident.

The plastic bits in the dishwasher's drawers eventually break incl the bottom "mesh" of the flatware basket
These parts snap in and out by hand, except the flatware basket of course. After getting the new parts I will mention two things: 1) the two halves of the flatware basket are symmetrical; i.e., you can use two of either basket PN as long as you don't care about how the basket is divided (one side has two sections and the other has three); 2) the replacement parts seem to be made of stronger/more flexible plastic (either the material degrades over time from the heat and detergent, or maytag had enough early product life warranty claims on the pastic bits that they improved the material).

Wash motor not pumping and making a grinding sound
I went to PartSelect and found the parts pictorial. A replacement motor was listed for 3 series of the dishwasher. The series can be identified by the first 2 digits of the dishwasher serial number. Mine was 22 so I needed parts for the series 20 dishwasher.

According to the pictorial it looked like the motor seals were included with the replacement motor. When the motor arrived, I found the seals were not included. I called PartSelect and they shipped the seals to me with free overnight delivery.

I had no trouble disassembling the wash manifold and spray parts using the instructions provided with the replacement motor and the instructions from the Maytag repair manual that I found online. The motor is removed from the inside of the tub.... very nice. You don't need to remove the dishwasher from under the counter in order to get at the motor.

I made a mental note of the orientation of the faulty motor before I removed it. I installed the replacement motor with the same orientation along with the wash parts. The dishwasher worked successfully.

Thank you PartSelect.

Dishes were coming out dirty with specs of debris on them
I noticed there was a filter type of material in the bottom of the dishwasher that had a small tear in it and figured that was my problem. I removed the nut from the sprayer arm at the bottom of the tub, removed the sprayer arm, removed 3 screws of the plastic cover below that. Removed six screws on the plastic cover below that. Removed one screw fron the center of the black pump spinner wheel that allowed me to lift off that cover. Then I lifted out the flowplate assembly. Placed the new part in and reversed the steps. Works like new again! All for about $30...I am not trianed in any way and have no experience in this kind of thing but am motivated trying to avoid a large service bill for a few screws. I am so happy...Thanks PartSelect!

Would not spray.
Looks like Maytag knew this was a problem. My chopper sleeve (plastic) was stripped and causing the impeller to not spin. The replacement part was all metal and was very easy to replace the old one just by removing screws. The replacement looks to be very sturdy and should last a lot longer than the original. Thanks.

The impeller was not spinning. There was no washing water.
After finding out that the impeller shaft was stripped (plastic) I quickly found the correct replacement on partselect.com by using my model number.
You do not have to remove the dishwasher, if you know what is wrong. But, throw the breaker switch and turn off the water! After removing the spin washer arm, Undo all of the torx screws and pull out the plastic filter looking plates along with the center plastic water jet. This jet provides water for the upper washer assembly. You may have to pop that upper assembly out to protect it from damage.
The black impeller should just pull out if the plastic shaft is stripped. Otherwise, unscrew the small torx head and remove the impeller. You can remove the blade at this time and unscrew the plastic shaft by unthreading it while keeping the motor from spinning. (I shoved a screw driver underneath the dishwasher through the motor. Also the motor is just floating on the rubber gasket and can easily pulled out to accomplish this task. It's heavy and has a plug attached to it. You'll see where you can shove the screw driver. This comes in handy while installing the new shaft, because it is metal. Which is a great, long awaited upgrade for the Maytag Quiet Series. Once you find which shaft to use, (which correct inner thread, course or fine), install it with the great directions that come with the part. Putting all the stuff together is not as bad as one would think, there is only one way for it to go back together. After installation is complete, turn water and breaker switch back on. Run a cycle and listen for the washing cycle against the wall of the washer. If you cannot tell the difference, you can unscrew the white lock arm and insert it into the door. Turn it on and watch how a dishwasher works. Get ready to get a little wet. Towels!

Dishwasher wasn't cleaning well, especially top rack
I wanted to get the dishwasher cleaning better and thought that maybe the accumulator needed to be replaced. I figured that I'd swap out all the spray arms as well, just for good measure.

I needed Torx screwdrivers (T15 and T20, I think - not 100% sure on that) and patience because there's really quite a lot of screws to get the accumulator out. Finally got to it and it didn't look damaged, but replaced it anyway.

The spray arms are easy - they just snap in except for the lowest one, that had a plastic nut. I ordered a replacement nut just in case I broke this one (you know how that goes) taking it off. Well, it took pliers, but it came off ok.

In the end, my dishwasher is happy and cleans much better now.

Dishwasher would not spray water. Water would drain but not spray
Removed the basketsThen removed the bottom spray arm with nut driver. Removed the cover and spray tower assembly. removed screw holding broken impeller. Replaced and reversed process. Really easy. As an aside. This dishwasher has been a major disappointment. lots of things not holding up. Didn't go cheap when buying it. Nice to find a site with good prices for parts

Original basket broke
The bottom broke out of the original basket just after one year of use. The manual showed a different basket than what came with the dishwasher, so I ordered it instead. I like the split/fit even though it is just a little smaller than the original. The sides lean out instead of straight up and down like the old broken one, so more silverware fits in it. It is handy to take apart and position one at the front and the other at the side of the rack so there is more room for larger pots and pans.

Dishes not getting clean - sandy residue on dishes.
There was a tear in the fine filter (fabric) on the accumulator. This can be seen by looking in dishwasher without having to disassemble anything. Food was being sucked in and sprayed back out on dishes.

Disassembled, cleaned, replaced part then reassembled.

Cleaned out the spinning sprayers -- used toothpicks to clean out holes, flushed with water.

Cleaned out under the accumulator.

Works like new.
