The rubber end of the middle wash arm tube broke and melted when it fell onto the heating element
I unscrewed the wash arm tube from the agitator, and then unhooked the plastice holders that held the arm tube, pulling those parts out of the dishwasher. I took the new (one piece!) wash arm tube in hand and then realized that I would have to cut the plastic holder in half because there was no way to get the new (1 piece) arm tube through the plastic holder. I cut the plastic holder in half, fit it around the arm tube, and super glued the holder back together, allowing it to dry for several hours just to be safe. After that, I simply screwed the entire thing back on, and we were good to go. It could not have been easier, except for the unexpectedness of have to cut the plastic holder. Saved us probably at least $100 worth of service call and parts.

One of the springs that support the down-swinging door
1) Removed the two panels below the door.
2) Unscrewed the two screws holding the dishwasher to the upper cabinet facing.
3) Pulled dishwasher out 6-8 inches to gain access to springs located on the side.
4) Removed the broken spring.
5) Attached the new spring.
6) Openned and closed the door to make sure spring was tight enough.
7) Pushed dishwasher back in.
8) Rescrewed cabinet facing screws
9) Rescrewed floor panels.

Only problem was with ordering ... PartSelect part number is different than the FSP-Whirlpool part number. PartSelect should provide a cross-reference table if there is a difference between OEM number and PartSelect number.

Upper Wash Assembly Broke Apart
First I read the other repair stories and knew it was a relatively easy repair. I removed the end caps on the front of the top dish rack and removed it for ease of access to the part. I then removed the two screws holding in the old part observing how it was positioned to make sure the new part was replaced in the same manner. I put the new part in place and screwed in place and replaced the dish rack. Everything is working just fine.

The # 6 flexrow got wobbly and couldn't hold the dinner plates in line...then it just broke in half
DEFINITELY 5***** Stars
The piece arrived, and my husband was able to pop out the old flexrow and pop in the new one.....took less than one minute. Voila...back in business again.

We had just made the (big) decision to not renew the warranty. The dish washer is 10 1/2 years old, and we figured we'd cross our fingers...never having a problem with it. A week later the flexrow broke. I called KitchenAide...they would/could send an entire bottom rack for $135.00. I found PartSelect, easily found the diagram and correct part, and for less than $30.00 we ordered it and it arrived at our front door within 48 hours. You can't beat that for quality and fast service.
Thank you PartSelect.

Prongs on Upper and Lower Dish racks were rusted and broken.
I ordered the upper and lower rack replacements PLUS additional wheels and other attachments because I could not tell from the schematic on the website whether or not the smaller pieces came with the rack.

As it turned out, the racks came ready to install and all it took was a limber nephew to take out the old ones and put in the new. Now I have plenty of spare parts in my own inventory in case the wheels, etc. need replacing.

I feel guilty sending you this repair story because all I did was order the parts on your website and then conned my nephew into making the exchange.

The parts arrived very quickly and in good condition. In fact, the new racks are an improvement over the ones that came with the dishwasher originally. Ms. Susan McNutt was quite helpful in keeping me informed of the status of the part that was back-ordered. It was a pleasure dealing with PartSelect.com.

The wheels that make the lower rack roll had worn out to the point that sometimes dishes would rub against the spray arm.
I removed the old wheel assemblies
(4 total holding 2 wheels each) with a slight prying with a screwdriver to
ease it off the rack. After the first one, the rest were a little easier.
The new ones had to "mate" a certain way and then just needed a push of the hand.

soap dispenser spring wasn't working.
My husband replaced the entire soap dispenser until in under 30 minutes. I stayed out of the room. :) I didn't hear any swearing, so I assume it went fairly well. Sorry that I can't give you detailed instructions. He didn't need a manual or any type of directions. I guess it was kind of obvious how to do it. Just be sure you turn off the power first.

Washer was not agitating
Removed the washer from the cabinet, although the repair kit could have been replaced without this step. However, it still made it easier. Removed the spray arm assembly and the top cover to the motor. I had to block the motor to keep it from turning while I unscrewed part number 11. The rest was very self explanatory. The "impeller" was seized onto the motor shaft (20 years old) so I had to use a chisel to break what remained off, then clean some corrosion from the shaft. The repair kit worked and the pictorial parts diagram that came with the kit was very clear. Bottom line: "Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!" Great web site for diagnosis and parts diagrams!

Very noisy on heavy wash cycles started and stopped when filling
repair was very easy did need to go to the hardware store for and adapter for the hose to water inlet valve as mine had a smaller diameter connector. Otherwise followed both videos. Needed a shopvac to remove water in the bottom of the dishwasher
